Any advice really greatful for! THANKS

If you are taking about DI/demin resin:-

You should have a hand held tds meter to test your output with. Once the tds level reach a level that leaves marks/water spots on the glass the you will need to renew your resin.

If you are talking about softening resin:-

You need to calculate your maximum through put and then regenerate with appropriate quantity of salt.

I change my resin every 3 mnths ( DI unit ) when the TDS creeps up to 003.
Some however change it at a higher reading, there has never been an
  industry set standard yet ???

Cheapest resin, everyone is about the same £62 + vat + delivery is the
  cheapest I have seen.

However I will be the cheapest supplying to Scotland £55 + vat + delivery.
