Title: Ninja advice wanted

Recently bought a new Ninja with auto dump facility. Seems to be a good gunge trap underneath the auto dump pump. Not alot of room under there to unblock it. Is there anything under there i should be peridiocally cleaning etc? And what about the built-in Steam mate, when should I do anything to that? Or do you just run it until the Steam mate plays up?
