Title: Pocket George new feature?
Post by: [GQC] Tim on October 09, 2006, 11:43:09 am
Hi, I was wondering if there are any plans to incorporate the 'Create new job' function in the next version of PocketGeorge?

Thing is, I still have to do it by paper, and put them in the system when I get home, it would be really easy to do it with your PDA using PocketGeorge!

Or is there any other way in the meantime? Like just using Quickoffice (Word) for it?

Hi

No - we don't plan to add that in the near future.

I suggest you make a note in the Palm Memo Pad - it will be transferred to your PC when you do a HotSync.

Are you able to defer all work on george for a week (ie going on holiday) had a look but other than doing every job manually can't work it out?

I really do not understand that you are not planning that.....George is pretty much A+++ perfect right now, IMO it has ALL the features you need, but Pocket George is waay to 'skinny' for doing anything but a worklist!!! That is not really nice for everyone using it...

That's pretty much the only thing that we need! Maybe in the future even your full job list + Diary view etc...we're not asking for the whole program on it! :) :)

Eventhough I can't code, can't seriously not be that hard.  :'(

Hi

It would be a big job to add that to PocketGeorge. It's only supposed to be a "smart" version of the WorkList.

We would have to transfer all your master files - Rounds, Job Types, Vat Rates, working days, etc, etc and add a mass of logic. You probably don't realise how much work goes on behind the scenes when you set up a new Job.

That would make it much more complicated - and don't forget - it is free.

I'm also not convinced that most of our users have mastered Grafiti...

Wats graffiti ? I get paid to remove it.
Greorge is pretty Daxm good.
But, I just wish there had beenn a Masterclass/workshop,  somewhere that I could have paid to attend to find out all the bells and whistles, quicker.

A facility to edit the notes for each job would be good

Hi Steve

Have you tried to edit the notes?

Didn't notice it as an option. Is it already in Pocket George?

Would be nice in pocket George to have the ability to "skip" a job till next time, I know its not difficult to change the date, but when some are weekly, fortnightly, monthly its difficult to remember who has what, just hitting a "skip" button would be much easier.
Perhaps easier to add than a create new job function.
Still a great program, think back to the days without pocket George and on Friday night spending 2 hours manually putting work on the main program.

Hi

I honestly don't know.

I haven't been able to work on it recently so it's on hold at the moment...
