No pics but recieved phone call from a customer whose carpets I cleaned yesterday, whose cat had been poorly and had to be put down.As you can imagine cat wee and sick all over the place, she rang to thank me as the carpet looks even better today than it did yesterday. So the question is does nemesis continue to work after we pack up and go home?
-
Not trying to be funny or anything but if its pre sprayed and then extracted then surely there shouldn't be any chemical left to carry on working should there?
-
That's why I asked the question ??? As I thought the same if its rinsed out there is no chemical left to work its magic.
Don't know the workings of the chemical but my customer was a very happy lady 8)
-
Andy look at the other forum pics on there!
Goron

Had a look but cant see any pics??????????

I'd be interested in seeing pics as well.
-
Anyone willing to jump the fence, copy the pics and post on here then?
-
I'd do it but i'd only get accused of advertising!
-
Its okay, tell them it was my fault, they expect it from me ;D

Never thought about it that way, but isn't that what HWE after prespraying is about. Extracting the prespray from the carpet?
Now i'm confused. Can someone shed some light on this please.
-
Now I'm confused. Can someone shed some light on this please.
Seems straight forward to me, prespray, agitate, rinse = chemical down, chemical thrashed about, chemical extracted, if done properly there should be very little chemical left in the carpet as its lifted and diluted by the rinse from the wand.
I don't really keep an eye on what percentage of water I recover compared to how many litres go down but next week, for one week only, in true time limited special offer style I will attempt to be bothered enough to measure it at both ends to see if I can gauge an accurate percentage of what is left behind, that's if all the jobs I've got booked don't hear about new m3 schnitzer turbo sri evo7 and cancel me in a fit of eco friendliness (if they do I'll see if I can get some work valeting all their 4x4's ;D), oops, there I go again
-
Even taking in to consideration that there's going to be some left in the carpet.
If it's put down as a prespray at it's max recommended dilution, then a plain water rinse is going to take it above what is recommended to be effective.
-
i would post a picture but have always found it impossible to do on this forum i will send you directly
-
Hi Andy,
I surpose this is an instant ban for me, here goes.
Posted by me mate Peter Reed
this was the prespray of mpower one side and chemical the other after 15minutes no agitation
-
this is one room next to another where i applied the mpower and simply agitated against a carpet i had not touched

Thanks for posting them up Dave, and to Peter for emailing me a pic, much appreciated, Andy
-
Before pic, slight pattern on carpet. After pic, no pattern!!
-
You know James I thought that. :-\
May be Peter's rubbed the patern out with his super dooper scrubber
-
:o Tis truly magical ;D
-
Wow, this M-power stuff really is amazing, changes the pattern as well.
Phil

just to clarify the after pic was not the same as the before pic. i admit to being crap at taking pics the after pic was in the same house my apologies for any misundersatanding. it was not meant to mislead the living room was a wool twist which was i thought totally trashed but came up like new.
All I wanted to do was inform everyone about my findings. if you do not want to try the stuff then dont i dont care if any of the stuff gets sold i have no dealings with cornwall . i will be testing the other one when it comes next week from john kelly side by side and if it proves to be as good or better i will then buy that instead , thats after the 10 litres i have just bought from solutions runs out
-
Hi All,
I checked the amount of solution I was recovering versus the amount put in my tank when I started in September. About 85% was recovered from the carpets I cleaned, but this is probably on the low side as I was just getting a good technique going. This was the amount of extraction solution with me using ca 40L. I only put down about 3L of prespray so would think that most of the pre spray was extracted and / or very heavily diluted and it was mainly extraction solution left in the carpet.
I tend to think that there would be very little prespray left in the carpet after extaction and even if there was the percentage would be so low that even if still active whilst wet would not really be doing anything visual. The customer commenting that the carpets look even better the next day is probably due to the fact it is fully dry and has been gone over with a 'oovah.
Regards,
Adam.

When rinsing any pre-spray the clean water sprayed onto the carpet is no longer clean water. Once it hits the fibres and the pre-spray it becomes diluted pre-spray. It is likely that there is some active product left in the carpet. This would be the case unless the carpet was rinsed over and over again leading to over wetting.
You can clearly see this when I submerge clean, rugs, even using a hose pipe to flush it clean, it is often ten to fifteen minutes before the water runs clear.
-
how come on the last picks carpet started with herring bone pattern and after no pattern. ???
-
carpetclean, many thanks for posting the pics. Based on the pictures I will most likely buy a sample pack in the near future and try it for myself.

Now Now Paul be nice to the lad
Cleaned a large rug yesterday for Phil Marlor down in Essex.
used Craftex conventional products came up lovaly even the dog thought so too.
-
ha ha, that one cleaned with numatic, ninjas being used elsewhere, usualy used to vac slurry from hard floors, smart arse
-
Dave
Are you shaw thats not a sheep that you have just shorn?
-
If it is, it must have been a bloody big coat I took off him!
-
;D ;D
Dave jokes aside, the rug has come up well and good wand technique getting it dry in an hour.
What Chemicals did you use?
If it starts with M, I will scream :(
-
Not this time paul, the rug was real minging and I wanted to spray and go so I used Enzyme as prespray then used the old Sebo Duo to agi then rinsed with Craftex Premier clean at 2gals an hr.
I Phils about tonight he'll tell you it was blinding ;D
-
Hi Dave/Paul
This rug had so much pile I originaly declined to do it, however DI said bring it along. (Dave you shouldn't have said you used enzime).
Its a good job we didn't use M-Power as this keeps working after the clean otherwise the dog would have been clean on one side and dirty the other.
A rug like that would have taken ages to dry, but a powerful machine and a good drying day outside helped.
Dave, thanks again for yesterday.
Phil
ps still think the rug I did came up better! ;)
-
If it makes you feel better Phil, your rug was cleaner but you used Enzyme too.
As I have said before the ph, level is insignificant to the level of soiling.
When faced with high soiling levels ph’s of any chemical is soon killed of by the time it reaches the fibres when used correctly.
Great day Phil we'll have to do it again.
-
Dave totally agree with your comments.
Sometimes we get too stuck in the wool safe zone. :o
And with your 6 months experience now in cleaning there should not have been a problem ;D
-
And 3 days Paul be fare I know what I'm a doing. next week I'm going to bonnet with caustic soda. After what you told me about chincy rugs :-X
-
Dave just dont wash your tackle in it :P :'( :-*
-
Great on hard floors though ;)
-
Dave told you not to use it on hard floors.
As you can see its making them go black. :)
-
i recognize that dog

Hi All,
Back to work this week after a week at home. used the M thing today for the first time. I used 50ml in 6 litres of warm water, pre presprayed, agitated and extracted with my Diamondback at 135psi. Pictures speak for themselves.
Cheers,
Adam.
-
More,
The second one is one backward sweep after 15min dwell
-
More,
Finished job
-
Hi Adam,
Very good results.
You mentioned you mixed with warm water. Does it make much difference if cold water is used?
Arthur
-
Hi Arthur,
Dont know to tell you the truth, first time I've used it. It says on the label warm or cold so if it says that I would always go with the warm option. I used 50ml of chemical to do the whole job sitting room hall and bathroom extracted with plain water. I cant find the really mucky pic of the sitting room but I'll post it when I can.
I was pretty impressed, gotta run got football tonight,
Cheers
Adam.

The Flure De Leses is upside down ;)
Is it Polyprop ?
-
While the results shown are OK, you can achieve as good a result with inexpensive c/c powder, I think everyone has a standard and sometimes what one person reckons is a fantastic result, a more pedantic, or fussy individual might find fault with it.
I would, however encourage everyone to try everything, as what works for one, won't necessarily work for another.
I used a product years ago which reacted in the way Steve suggests, but the manufacturers said this would happen, when water was reapplied.
Concerned me, at first, but the results were excellent.
-
What product was that ?
-
Mentioned it before Paul, Mr Ashmore wasn't keen on the scent, kind of sweet, but the results were great and customers said it smelled nice and clean.
It's Argosheen from the US the Argo family invented bonnet mopping decades ago and the product is unchanged, from the original, which first saw the light of day 60 years ago !!!!!!
The cheap stuff, is from a Yorkshire manufacturer,
They also do a crystallising foam which I'm playing around with.
-
Ok I would like to try some so give me the details.
And Shaun has always beew a bit of a whoos when it comes to smelly stuff ;D, he only likes the smellof old spice :)
-
www.argoco.com
Mike H recently bought cotton bonnets from them as they are pretty damn good.
-
