I am just starting out and trying to build my round up. I really would like to avoid having to go out collecting in the evenings. With some customers I have arranged for them to leave the money under a plant pot but had also thought about putting self addressed envelopes through the door. Does anyone have experience of either of these methods, and how successful are they?

There are loads of old posts covering this.
One this week.

Unless it is really secure, don't allow your customers to leave cash around.
I had one customer who left £40 cash outside, and it wasn't exactly visible to passers by either, but you guessed it, it went missing :o :o. Thing is, customer hadn't told me that she was leaving it out for me, so when she had a card through her door telling her she owed me £40. She wasn't best pleased as you can imagine. Made it very difficult to speak to her, and for some reason I almost felt guilty, but at the end of the day I didn't tell her to leave it out, so not my responsibility. Harsh, but true.

SAE works well for me

I have used s.a.e since day one as i work rurally and do lots of miles.I also stamp on the inside of the envelope saying, Regarding Windows cleaned on with thanks and price, this has always worked for me .

I don't leave SAE but tell them that if they aren't in to post it on.
I have told them that because i am flexable with payments (up to 3 cleans) i don't think they mind paying postage.
Any new customers i get i just tell them that all my customers post payment if they aren't in and only have 2 customers that i have to chase.
I am dropping these very soon.
