I've been told to get "key man" insurance aswell, I've never heard of it what do you guys think.

On top of that I've got my tax, mot an phone bills plus rent and a ionics account which is due any day now loan repayments direct debits it goes on and on, All these companys breathing down my neck :'( DOES ANYONE ELSE WANT A PIECE!!!!!

oh the joys of running a business :( just gotta soldier on.

Veiws on the quotes above much appreciated.

Hi GAZZSP8,

It works out dearer for me to do that. I go to the local broker who searches all the best deals, although they wont insure my equipment for some reason, I have to go to a completley diffrent company.

How much did you pay for your PL mate?

Wow your van insurance is expensive.

I bought my van last year a new Fiat ducato 2.0 swb,

It cost £308.00 to insure fully comp with breakdown cover and legalcover.

Cos I had a good driving record they put me on a 65% discount straight away.

This year exactly the same cover for £304.00.

Age as its advantages at times.

Thanks for the replys fellas,

Nel i thought the van insurance should of come down more than that, last year I was happy with the price as the year before it cost me £1500 and something to insure an old astra van. This is all because of a car I had at 18, I wont say what car it was but I will tell you it wasnt no beat down fiesta or nova the car was to powerfull for me as a new driver I couldnt handle the rear wheel drive and you geussed it was written off.

JM123  :o :o

£1698 WTF, thats exsesive isnt it bet your not happy, when you break it all down to what it works out monthly its astranomical. HOW DO THEY SLEEP AT NIGHT!!!

How comes your PL is so dear? is it because you have 2mill?

EL is Employers Liability, its a legal requirement if you employ someone.

As for insurance here, any insurance is expensive, primarily because of very little competition but there are other factors, for example - motor insurance, our roads are rubbish and everyone thinks they're driving Group N rally cars - hence people here have loads more accidents than on average.  But PL being so expensive - I don't know why, its a rip off.

If your only 21 yrs old I am impressed.

Power to your elbow mate.

Hi Macc, I'm in Bally - meeenah its a huge metropolis about 25 miles north of the little town of Belfast.  N.I (Northern Ireland), ask Tosh about it - apparently he thinks its great here, must have been the Poitin, or was it the craic?

When I was in Northern Ireland, as a squaddie, we could claim back the difference between a car insurance quote for the Centre of London, and for where we lived in Northern Ireland.

For example, if car insurance in London was 600 for the year, and 500 for Ireland, we could claim back the difference of 100 pounds.

In the end this was scrapped because car insurance in N. Ireland was far higher than that of Central London.

It really used to bug me, especially when I lived 'behind the wife' in a secure military base, guarded by armed soldiers, guard dogs and CCTV cameras.  My car was ultra safe!!!  I even explained this to one company, to no avail.

Insurance companies in NI are a rip-off.

Smile lads

About 5 years ago I supplied a brand new Citroen C15 to 2 19 - 20 year olds who were going into a Painting and Decorating business together.
They asked if I had a list of New Van Insurers that they could contact for an insurance quote. I gave them the list and they came back to me smiling. They accepted a fully comp insurance for £2500.00 per year, the cheapest quote that they got.
The van brand new was £4995.00 + VAT and taxes.
