Currently have a 135psi pum on my Advantage.
Can I put a more powerful pump on this?
Alltec did not really want to put the 200psi pump on it because it was unreliable but that may have changed.
Cheers in advance

I can't see any reason why a more powerful pump couldn't be fitted..
However, the pressure guage would probably need upgrading. Also, if it has one of those variable speed jobbies then you need to check whether the new pump will draw more current than the old one. If it does then the speed controller may not be up to the job.
It'd make sense to check all the internal hoses carefully as they'd be more likely to split under the higher pressure.

you want one of these, from carpet cleaning world. i think you need to put in a bypass so you'll need to drill a hole in your clean tank.

Might be worth trying Alltec again, i was there today and steve was talking to someone about fitting one to something ??? There advertising a 200psi pump again so maybey they now have a reliable one.
Otherwise try woodbridge, they will be a lot cheaper anyhow.

Hi Neil
If you want a 200 psi we now have an induction motor to replace the brush motor like the one that is pictured on our website. Its an easy operation one hole gor the by-pass regulator, which controls the water flow and a sepetate bupass to the clean tank

Hi Vernon,
Thank you for your reply.
Can you e-mail with costs of pump and installation to neilgrainger@acleantouch.co.uk. or give me a call number on Web Site.
Cheers

the usual reason a bigger pump can't be fitted is because its bigger so won't fit.
you don't need to drill another hole in to the fresh tank to return the bypassed water, you can put a 'T' into the the pump inlet pipe and circulate the by-passed water.

I will get the size of the pump for you first, see if it will fit

when i measured up to do this (same 200psi) on my alltec aqua 50 it would fit.

One thing to watch for with an induction motor pump is to make sure there is no pressure in the line when switching the pump on. The older brushed motors being DC have a higher starting torque so its not so important.
Starting the pump with pressure will seriously impair the performance and may well blow the motor after a few goes.
Just release the tool valve tolet the water out.
Otherwise they last far longer than a brushed motor.
