Hi Rich
I've been window cleaning for a few months now but only domestics - I've flyered a couple of commercial properties and am now panicking if I have any calls as I don't have any H & S or risk assessment docs.
Could I be a pain and ask you to email me your documents please?
My email address is: bluewatercleaning@hotmail.com
Thanks very much

Don't mean to stir the pot guy's, but as a condition of your insurance are you not already required to have risk assessment/method satement etc?

P @ F Guess what i'm going to ask you. ;)
Would be very grateful if you could send me the documents to have a look at. I have a few already but they are a bit sketchy if you know what i mean. Could definately use some that look professionally drafted.
Thanks in advance,
Lance

Don't mean to bore anyone Rich, but would guess being dead or crippled would not be any fun!
Seriously, all I am saying is that it is a condition of insurance that you have taken account of all the relevant legal requirements, failure to do so, could result not only in death or injury, but also the insurance company refusing to meet their liabilites in the event of a claim.

Rob

Sorry Rob , but how could it result in death ?
Are you saying that if i fell 2 floors onto concrete whilst not having a risk assesment i would die , but if i had a risk assesment and fell the same two floors i would bounce back up and say "Phew that was lucky " !
I do see what your saying , but in that case do you not think that it should be a legal requirment for all insurance companies to request a copy of said documents before providing cover ?
But then , if they did that then they would not be able to use the old " Its in the small print " number on us would they !
Glad this came up as now we should all check with our insurance providers .
All the best .

Morning Rich,
Yes I agree, that if insurance companies insisted on seeing all relevant paperwork, before cover commenced that would fix most of the problems, however, that still would not prevent people just supplying the relevant paperwork, and modifying the content to suit their own company.
I find myself wondering, just how many window cleaners are out there believing that they covered, when the fact of the matter is, they are not!

Rob
