Title: 3rd Time lucky with printers
Post by: jamesjames on September 26, 2006, 12:28:16 am
Hi Guys, I've had some bad luck with my two printers, the first leaflets were great but my headed paper had spelling mistakes on it even though I had proofed it, the chap was quite rude so I decided to go else where for my second lot, the second one  was highly recommended, I orderd 10k leaflets I asked for 150gsm paper (& paid for it) and got 80gsm, the colour ranged from blue (what it should have been) through to light purple, there were splodges of multy coloured ink on some and writing from previous printing. There was approximately 2k that I have had to bin & approximately 4k that if money was no object I would bin! I have tried to get in touch with them by telephone but I always get the answerphone and they never return my messages, I have emailed and also sent a letter, all to no avail, so after my gripe, can any one recommend a good reasonably priced printers.

James

I cant believe someone is reccomending DP print I had the same problem and it was DP print who did the work - I have kept boxes with over print and poor quality ( second time this has happened!) I think people should be very careful who they reccomend it could come back and bite them on the back side.

- I am not saying all his jobs are bad but 2 of my print jobs have been!

Hi Guys,

I would suggest you try to find a qualityish local printer, tell them what you want and see what price they come up with.

Most of us on here charge a qualityish price for a good job, I don't suppose printers are any different.

My local printer has supplied me with  millions of leaflets over the years but I've done lots of work for him and his family.

It's worth building a good relationship with all your suppliers and keep local if you can so you both benefit.

Cheers

Doug

P.S My local Prochem dealer supplied me with a job today, another example of building contacts.

Just had rather a lot of leaflets printed by D.P(thought i,d give it a go?) And i cant recommend Mark enough!! He must work very long hours as his e-mail proofs to me came through at very strange hours? The quality of his work is superb, he did everything i asked for and the price is a lot lower than anywhere local to me. Again-im very impressed and will definately be using him again!  ;D If leaflets work of course? ???

If anyone has a problem with a supplier they should try and sort it out with them.

Mr Housebuddies did you contact DP. and complain.

Ok so Trade Print has gone.

yes I did complain, he reprinted the job - same result poor quality, he blamed some one else said he had sub contracted job out (maybe it was his ex business partner)

Mark called me a crook for complaining, I still have 6 boxes here waiting to be collected. You may be used to cr*p work but im not - my leaflets reflect me and my business, I now use azuirith print. Cheaper price and a far better quality. You can find them on google

its not comparable price, yours where 2 colour cannprints are full colour, so you can have pics in it.

Art, i noticed a post must have gone missing too, as there not making sense now, also truckmount chat site topics gone missing.

Craigp. Yes there are many variables on prices granted, but this did seem a good price to me? Like i say ive never done leaflets before so i was more than happy with service, quality etc! If my letter box boy gets em all out and i get a decent return then i know where my money is going-again. I also had THREE pictures put in my leaflets-as i not only clean carpets but also supply and fit them aswell ;) Again i cannot complain but can only praise D.P for the service ive recieved  ;D

Regards

Damian.

Well it would be nice for someone to at least reply to why the post was removed.

Censorship is something i know has to be in place, but if the post in question was removed, i really can't see why.

i did ask why truckmount chat sights topic gone but the question was even removed ???

Damian you are right that is cheap for 2 colour, auctally im not sure these 2 companies are comparable because i think cann print only do full colour and DP dont do full colour at all, i know this is often the case as they need different machines/printers and many printers only do one or tother.

PS before i used full colour i was paying £200 for 20k 2 colour.

I have just received my order from Cannprint, 5k leaflets on 130gsm paper and I must say I'm very impressed!

Having quickly flicked through them I haven't found a single duff one that I can't use, the print quality is great!

There's only one suggestion I can make to improve the excellent service. The leaflets arrived in two different sized boxes with no indication as to how many were in each box. Would it be possible to have them bundled/boxed in 1000s or whatever?

Can anyone tell me how thick a stack of 1000 leaflets is, assuming they are on 130gsm paper?

Hi Calmore,

hope im not stating the obvious, but best way to count is, count 100, measure up against another bundle.... you know the rest.

they normally come in boxs of 4k & 2k, so what you probally have there is one full box of 4k, then a 2k box half full with 1k.

Post by: calmore on October 31, 2006, 09:15:08 pm
What I ended up doing was count 100 and use a pair of scales to make other bundles of 100.
