Just a Little info for you wfp Guy's

Dirt on the top and sides of the battery, even greasy dirt, can hold enough moisture to create a current leak from the positive terminal directly to the negative terminal, making your battery self-discharge more rapidly. Keep the battery clean and dry.

Jeff is quite correct , the first rule for any ayto electrics is to have a clean battery , the second is to make sure all the earth leads are well and trully earthed.

They both account for at least of 50% of all electrical problems.

Also Dave I don't know the resistance of pure water there must be some resistance to be able to measure TDS.

Guy's quite by accident and without thinking, spilling water onto there battery's can shorten battery life, by more than half, Battery's on trolley's inside trailers stored by water Tanks in vans should all be kept clean & DRY
