Title: the golden rule of window cleaning
Post by: thinclient on September 22, 2006, 01:52:51 am
If as I read on this forum the golden rule of wc is not to under cut other cleaners in your area I need some advice on pricing from anyone in the Manchester area.

Was a trad wc in the early mid 90's and would like to get back into it on a pt basis although the prices I remember will obviouly be out of date.

When I was doing the job £1-50 - £1-80 terrace 2 windows front 2 back + bathroom + doors
Average size 70's semi £3 - 3-50 3 @ front + door / small porch 2 side 3 back + patio + door
Bigger semi small det £4 -£4-50

Would really appreciate an idea of what the market rate for above would be today

terraced £5.00 - £7.00 front and back

Semi from £6.00 upwards average of £7.00

Detatched £10 +

Some window cleaners set a minimum charge of say £10.00 but that would not really work on the houses you are talking about especially the terraced and semi eastates in Manchester..

If just doing terraced fronts i would not go lower than £2.50, if you have enough in a line you will make good money out of them

i got a job cleaning windows in west london in 1991 i was charging £3 then for the fronts of small terraced houses, the prices must have gone up a good bit since then.

i charge depending on the area and the client and what car they drive, for detatched properties, but semis £5.00 upwards . I allways try to work of £15.00 to £25.00 an hour depending location location. Dont be to worried ,as if you do a good job they will be not mind the price
