Yes - do all of the above, get no recommendations and then lose your customers to a professional window cleaner who does a good job! :D

Come on guys, this fella is after a bit of genuine advice. Not really the time to be taking the P**S  :o

A piece of advice which has helped me and saved a lot of time is 'dog earing' your channel.

This is when you bend each end of your channel over slightly to create a bit of pressure on the ends of the rubber. It stops a lot of the excess water from forming runs on the glass and saves time when detailing the edges.

Hope this helps. If you have no idea what i mean by this i'm sure someone will post the link of a detailed picture for you. There was an old topic about 'dog earing' on here a while back so just run a search for it.

Good luck in starting up,
Lance

If You haven't got a ladder leveler, and to save running back and forth to your van or hunting around the garden for something to put under your ladder, Make yourself a wedge shaped piece of wood 3'' wide x 1.5-2'' high and cut into a wedge shape, keep this in your pocket or bag and you will always stay level.

Hey
regarding your other posts
do not ever ever stand on the top run of a ladder.
Do not ever go to the 4th floor with a ladder.

Get a uniform. have your name printed on the fleeces polos etc.
Always be clean shaven.

Hi Gaza

sorry ive only just seen this post

like anywhere in the country depending on what kind of work it is, i tend to do work for people who are quite well off. I have got very few accounts that are under 10 pound now most of my work is 3 storey it starts at a tenner plus i make sure i keep all their frames and doors clean throughout the year

regards

Brett
