What sort of cleaning system are you using
-
Good pre spay with craftex champion, work in with pile brush leave for few min, light spay of champion and extract at temperature. depending on how bad may need a few passes. I do a lot off pubs and this works a treat, make sure the landlord can see you do it they are normally ammazed, ask about additional work at this point after they have seen what you can do.
Good luck

Hi Neil
The best product I've found is hydramaster blitz, quicker than anything I've ever used! used it today in a lounge believe it or not.....it was in a flat attached to an indian resaurant where all the staff live!!!! and they had walked about 5 years worth of grease straight into there from the kitchen! if I knew how to put a pic on here I'd show you! :(
All the best

Never stupid, I don’t agitate this type of work dwell time is good, agents Multi-pro/ Blitz. Care with what’s underneath, last one two five pence (profit ;D) and 100’s of bit’s of gum. >:(
Steve
Can I have my pictures back as you don’t do the real black top? ;D

its worth taking note of lens comments as he showed me some pics of his work and very impressive

Hi neil,
I used a T/M but when you pre spray with blitz you can see it breaking the grease down before even rinsing!but give some dwell time.so I'm sure a good hot portable would be ok to use, but perhaps more passes with the wand would be needed.
All the best

A word of caution Neil
Many premises of this type have wool, or worse Belgian wilton carpets with the obvious danger of shrinkage, which is a strong possibility when attempting to remove blacktop

One of my first jobs was a pub carpet with serious blacktop. Used Prochem Hiforce Prespray (now superseded by Power Burst) sprayed it on, agitated with orbis rotary brush, extracted with HWE with Blazer t/m, came up a treat - see pics. if they come through.

Out of interest I've cleaned many black tops from admittedly wool Axminsters and never shrunk one even with mulitiple upon multiple passes of my Scrubba brush. Why havent they shrunk? I have spoken with a pub carpet fitter once who explained to me they actually stick the carpet down with some sort of glue. Stuck to what I'm not sure, not I floor I suspect. Any ideas out there?
thanx

Underlay is glued to the floor and the carpet is glued to the underlay. Very common in pubs. Best, Dave.

Chemspec Enz All. Did a job last week nothing would touch it, defo needed an enzyme of sorts. Used enzall took it straight out. Needed to give it a long dwell time about 40 mins with additional wetting and agitation.
