HI,
I have my first real inside job to do and i am scared to death to mess up if they watching ...or even not! lol.
i did an old ladies inside last week but to be honest her house was filthy and although i did not make any mess,
and i wouldnt even in the dirtiest house!......i was not nervous as she didnt care .
but now i have a posh detached to do inside,
i am scared of looking un professional , because to get it right i will have to slow right down,
help me please ! :o

Gazza don't worry.
As long as they get a great job, people don't care .
I have been told i am the longest timed window cleaner in Birmingham, this is due to be scared stiff.
But ah i get paid and walk away happy.
Gazza if all fails its only labour ur losing.
Just don't let out wind whilst doing this (like me.....upset stomach.....lol)

Just a tip gazza,
When cleaning internals keep your t-bar just under the bottom of your blade to catch the drips for less wiping up, this also works well when your working away from your bucket on big jobs (keeps your t-bar wet) ;D

Don't use quite so much water on your applicator, when you squeegee off there will be less drips.
Spread a dry scrim along the windowsill before you start each window, then any access will run into that.
Keep your bucket on the front door mat, or put a dry scrim under it.
Ask the customer if they want you to take your shoes off, or get some overshoes from cleaning supplies/ builders merchants they're only pennies.
If they have net curtains, keep them away from the window, better still ask them to remove them for you, dirty water will mark them.
If they leave ornaments on the sills, try to remove them and replace them as they were. Better that they do that stuff for you, but if not, as you get quicker you price that into the job.

When I have to do insides I ask the owner to remove any ornaments or photos from said window sills, saves the hastle if they find a crack or scratch. Its never happened to me but better to be safe. It also means you dont have to P*ss around afterwards putting them back in the right places. Up until recently I have used a hand sprayer with water and a little gg3 in and a dry scrim and a damp one and do the windows but it does takes longer so recently decided to stick with t-bar and squeegee. Small amount of water on t-bar and a rolled towel on window sill works a treat and is fast as you like.

No No No, we always charge time and half £10 outside £15 inside some lads even charge double but I think time and half is fair.

£10 outside and £15 for inside, £25 job???
I charge double, if anything as long as everything is cleared for you to clean you could charge a little less as it will be quicker as no ladder work involved

Gazza, with over 400 posts on this site I presume you are many years a window cleaner? How is it that you have not cleaned insides before?

Some charge the same in as out, some charge time and a half, and some charge double,
Take you pick, its what you think you can get in your own area, but don't forget the advice from the guy's about orniments, it takes time to remove and replace them,
I charge one and a half times the amount unless they have internal doors then I price Accordingly, if you get a customer who ums and arrs then tell them you have to use a different insurance for inside work and this cost you more.
Take extra care on the outside work first, because once inside you tend to spot all the bits on the outside you may have missed, and you have to keep going out side to remove them.
I wish I had this advice when I first started it would have saved lots of extra work and time.

those non scratch white sponges are great for insides.
Especially the kids grubby stuborn finger prints and dried on fly poo.
If you do not work in the rain insides are a great income.
Allways use the squeege a little drier.

I charge the same as outside, more if you have to do secondary glazing.
Always take shoes off, bucket on a belt and when using squeegee like others have said, catch the water coming off in the applicator.
Always ask for the homeowner to go ahead of you removing ornaments.
Have a cup of tea and a chat, try not to fart :)
