Just spoke to a window cleaner who has just bought a backpack, the company
he went to up here in Scotland gave him the sales pitch the back pack would
do the job.
I told him I agree and disagree with this statement, yes backpack will do the
job but it is the slowest piece of equipment using WFP. ( due to constant
refilling )
The best piece of advise I had from Ionics ;D was to think big and go for a
large tank because if you buy a small one you will end up upgrading it.
How right they were, started out with trolley then 250l now looking for a
bigger tank.
Having seen a lot of topics on here where a lot of you have gone big was this
due to cash restraints or bad advise from whoever you bought your equipment
from.
I just wish some companies should be more realistic when selling these
products as a first off into wfp as the user will soon become disillusioned
with the end result.
To any newbie thinking about WFP my advise will be think big 650l if you have
the capital, otherwise like me in the long run you will have a garage with
the discarded trolley and backpack.

im allmost at the 3 year WFP mark
still use a trolley and 6 X 25 L barrels
it all depends on yoru needs i guess
im helping some guy i used to work with start up, ive set him up with a trolley and 25 L barrels aswell, as it works for me, i cannot see why it wont work for him

i started with a 200lt ionics trailer system 6 months ago,3 weeks after i bought it i had a boat mechanic fit a water filling cap so i could fill after i had run out,i was then on 350lt a day,i have just bought a second hand merc van with a tucker system which carries 700lts so should never run out now, best advice i would give if you can afford it, is to buy a van with at least 500lts

Hi,
I went DIY route and I went for the largest tank I could ( custom made ) 650lts. At the moment I fill to 250/300 a night, but I know it will cope for future work loads which I will be going after.

DA you can go too much the other way as well
I saw this van on the motorway
http://www.powerclene.co.uk/
the phone number on the van represented an area full of trad window cleaners with average prices of £4.00 for a 3 bed detach, can the guys make it ---
I hope so look s like a big investment

Sorry Mate I totaly disagree.
What about the 20 to 100 mtrs of hose you have to reel out and reel in again.
I can refill my backpack in less than 2 mins from leaving the job to back again and thats with a 12lts/min caravan submerable pump. I can run for, on average, 45mins before filling up, sometimes over an hour! running on the lowest setting

I use tank+microbore and a backpack.
There's a guy round here (NW Bristol) who is reputed to be a workaholic low charging sad g*t. Allegedly!
He has a "55" plate Renault Trafic with the Reach and Wash Logo on the side and often works with a chubby lad alongside him. He tells me how professional his set up is (as he's parked next to my J reg Honda Estate ;D) Inside his van is a 1000 litre IBC tank and a 400 litre tank behind it :o!
He uses half inch hose on a plastic reel.
I said you may look professional from the outside but even if you don't care about your life in a collision, what about your lad? He said:-
"I only fill the main tank to 900 litres max!"
Muppetry at it's finest! >:(
If you want unbiased advice on wfp then look no further than this forum - it'll save you thousands of pounds and could save you your life!

I,m with Dave on this one ive tried trolley systems and and a van mount and none of them are as quick as using a backpack, i can fill mine to the brim in less than a minute and working on setting one as i always do i can clean two large detatched houses with ease.
