Title: Will there be a time.
Post by: DASERVICES on September 17, 2006, 04:31:40 pm

As highlighted a few times on this forum commercial companies and w/c
companies have been fined when there has been a accident due to neglect
  on both sides.

Will there ever be a time when domestic households will be responsible
for the H&S for anyone entering their property.

Commercial companies are responsible for the H&S for anyone entering their
premises. Have seen a few articles on the net where they have been sued.

If someone injured themself on a domestic property will there be a time when
  he could sue the owner.

Something to think about as we seem to be entering into a sue culture, bit like
  the States.

Householders are already liable.

They are classed as duty holders the same as any company or organisation.

My brother recently had some roof repairs carried out.  A separate company was used to supply & erect the scaffolding, he as the property owner had to provide insurance cover for the men working on it!  H&S.
