Can anyone please give any help or advice on cleaning door mats, not the coir type, the one I have been asked about is rubber backed with a logo for a hotel ?
-
Do not really understand your question Beachy, these barrier mats are normally synthetic in construction, perhaps you would have to find out about the composition of the logo, but that's about it.
We normally use HWE and low speed rotary on these, hope this helps, regards,
Rob

Thanks Rob thats what I thought, I suppose it was just the idea of cleaning a mat which is something made to trap dirt not having been asked to clean one before !

They will take normal extraction cleaning and should be colourfast as they are designed to take a bashing from the elements, muddy wet feet scuffing all over them all day and night.
They are usually supplied and changed by the company that supplies them ie clean step mats or similar and cost the hotel about a 5iver a week depending on size.-John

When i was on the Ashbys trainning course they used an entrance mat to demo.
Seemed straight forward enough using a ninja

Beat it round a lampost til the dust stops then HWE it with a good extraction agent and it will work fine

mmm sounds like a typical matt which is laundered as John sugested but some matts neddle punch or coir respond well to pressure washing ;)

I have 4 mats which I supplied to my customer. My cleaners vac them daily and I HOST clean them weekly. Works well for me
