It goes like this:

Hi, I am expanding my window cleaning round into your area and wondered if you needed a window cleaner?

Yes - sort and arrange

No - Ok, can I leave my card in case you ever do need one.

Thanks,

Bye

Thats what we do anyway?

Doesn't matter a great deal what you say. What does matter is to be polite, courteous & friendly. Canvassing is largely just a numbers game. Once you find the individual who potentially may be intereseted in your service, the challange is to establish trust as soon as they answer the door. If they do not want a window cleaner, there is no point having a long speal each time. You are just wasting their time & yours.

I deliver leaflets a few days before I canvass to let them know that I will be calling, it seems to work well. Wear a smart uniform with your company name on it and smile sweetly ;D

:D Not funny chaps  ::)  I know of at least two or three people here who have started to change there bad habbits & teqnique to the correct one enlight of recent topics. Therefore saving themselfs painfull strain injuries in the future. is that a bad thing? I dont think so!!

If you feel there should be more trad threads. Go ahead and start one then maybe you wont feel so left out.

Thanks Trev I try this and let you know how i got on :). But it`s a also a good idea to wear a uniform I gues maybe just a smart overall as canvasing but I also seem to be keeping my price very low just to get the job do you think it makes a different to the customer if I ask for £12 or £10.

A smart appearance is always a good thing. What i will say is don't price low just to get the job as later on these jobs will be your worse ones.

Work to a price that is proportionate to your hourly rate. i.e £20 per hour, job takes 15 mins therefore £5+

I would look at what you need to earn and set your rate at that. This way it will not lead to problems later on.

Start how you mean to go on.

Best wishes,

Trev
