Title: EXTRACTA SCRUBBER
Post by: terrymaloy on September 13, 2006, 10:49:24 am
Anybody out there use one ?... Red Carpet I know you do.

Been thinking of purchasing one but heard conflicting views...from " wouldnt use one ever again cos they ruck the carpet up " to " use one of these and you'll never look back"

Popped into Extracta the other day, John and Brian pointing out all its good points, but at the end of the day they are also salesmen.

Using the 12" carpet wand at present but if the above makes my job that bit easier, I might just get one.

Views appreciated.
Terry

Tried one many moons ago and couldn't get away with it. Excellent for large areas such as pubs but found it a pain on domestics due to lack of room.
Is it the 12 inch extracta wand you are using or a lightweight?

Terry got one in the garage if you want to try it before buying new.

I've had a Scrubber Deluxe ever since I started carpet cleaning. A fantastic tool and bullet proof. 8yrs and still going strong. Its heavy to carry but as for rucking up the carpet thats poppy cock. If my Scrubba was out of action I'd hire one rather than use a wand. I'm astounded how energy sapping using a wand can be. All your doing is wheeling a machine about on wheels with no downward pressure to be applied. I think I've used my wand for 2 days in 8 years but never again.

I think Steves answer says it all I've one in the garage if it was any good it would be in his van ;)

I used on for a while, OK on big areas, but too clumsy for every day use.

I did the one day course at Extracta in 2002. The guy doing the training, Ken sold me the benefits of his, so being new, i bought one along with an excel and a powersprayer. I used it 3 times only and in small areas it is clumsy. I have recently sold it.

I wish i had known about this site before buying the scrubber and sprayer. Keep hold of your hard earned cash.

I speak only from my limited experience, i have only used the extracta wand and the scrubba
And the scrubba is miles and miles and miles in front.

Steve and Mike have been at it longer than me, so im sure they have both had a few toys and found what suits them best.
But between the two the scrubba comes up trumps in my opinion.

It dosent ruck up carpet.

It is heavy and cumbersom, and im the first one to admit it but its worth it for the results it achieves.

This is its only negative point, and if you do a search on it this is the 1point you will keep hearing, but overall i find it easier to use than the wand, because if your a stickler for detail like me. Half the time when using the wand you wont be happy with the results and so keep going over bits.

How can somthing with a brush agitating as you extract, and a weighted head to ensure even suction not be better than that crap wand ???

I tried using my wand today as i was on a really awkward job "comunal area in flats" but soon went back to the scrubba

My advice, dont spend over a £1000 on one incase it dont suit you, but give it a try, pick up a used one for a couple hundred quid and if you dont like it sell it back on here for the same money.
