Hi all,
I'm thinking of taking my truckmount out of my van and fitting it into a trailer instead. Has anyone successfully used a trailer system on a regular basis, past or present, that could advise what type of trailer is best, ie two or four wheels? Does it have to be braked? Tips on security? Best size? etc
Obviously towing a trailer can be a pain at times but as I dont do carpet cleaning everyday I would rather put up with this than buy another van and then shell out for tax, insurance, mot.
Are there any other disadvantages I should consider?
Any input would be appreciated.
cheers

Hi
Security wise it becomes a lot easier to steal.
Will the movement of the trailer affect the TM, the suspension on a van must be lot better than a small trailer.
Have you looked into the cost involved?
Dave
PS I dont think its a bad idea.

Sell it and buy a Prowler. You can then take it in and out of the van when needed.

Cameron,
Leave it in the van. We have a truckmount in a trailer.
We got stopped at a weigh bridge, being pulled by a MWB Transit. 1/2 a ton over the vans pulling weight. If we get stopped again its a five grand fine
Now we have to use a LWB transit, not good for some jobs.

Parking would be a nightmare. Not for me but Chemspec have a demo TM in a trailer. Think its a Ifor williams trailer.

The worst thing I ever did was have a custome trailer made. Wish I'd bought a bigger van and had the thing installed
