Just interested what was the highest TDS reading people have worked with.
I checked my water last week and i was getting a 000TDS reading.
I went round my mates place yesterday to grab a coffee with him and he had some of the solution to calibrate the TDS Meter.
So we calibrated mine and his meters and checked my water.
It was coming out at 038TDS :o
I haven't a clue why it had gone up so quick as when i checked it last Friday it was 000, i didn't work Monday or Tuesday but the Wednesday it was up to 038.
I haven't had any complaints from anyone plus i cleaned my own windows with it and can't find anything wrong with them.
I have changed the Resin now and back to 000.
Anyone else had this and not realised?

when i got my first system from someone who was selling them cheap, my water was 250ppm :o
his theory was that you didnt need to use water that was 100% pure, you only needed to remove certain tds. he fitted a water softener, sediment/carbon filters and a uv light ???
unfortuanatly i didnt know the first thing about WFPs then, but i suppose thanks to him, i now know them inside out!
oh.............250ppm did NOT clean well ;D

Same happened to me a few months back, was none the wiser until a new customer called me back to a first clean, she appreciated first clean may not be 100%, I cleaned them again trad, popped to my mates where the ro was then , meter read 04, borrowed another meter read 40, our meter was a 2 digit type did'nt realise it was reading it x10! doh!
sorted it, never had a problem since, always 000
and my first cleans always come up 100% now thanks to the advice from this forum :D

this is why you should check the tds on each fill.you may have had a dirty water incident.if the water board were working in your street or nearby ,its possible they contaminated the water with dirt or something .this will ruin your resin in one go and of coarse push the tds up .

If you look back a few threads somewhere you'll see a post where Paul Mather couldn't understand why we di the water before the storage tanks and after the delivery tanks, Paul the post above is a good example of why its always a good idea to have a secondary di vessel - not essential but in a case where tds levels have unexpectantly gone up the secondary di vessel comes in useful.
