my guess is its 400 comercail contacts within a certain area (i doublt its Domestic, as that would be easy to do, just a few streets)
-
what is the labels.
I guess you get 400 commercial adresses with an adress label for each business so you can stick it on an envelope ?
Just guessing.
You can get the same out of the thompson local without the labels ?
I am confused now

yep, you just write a cover letter and stick on the label

oooooo is this a "guess the real topic thread" ???
I think its 400 address labels printed with names and addresses for your aera so you can post an advert or something??
If it is can be done for free and you wont get details of customers you already have ???
We'll see

Hi
Sorry guys.
This lady will do all the typing and printing of as many commercial addresses as she can fit in in the hours you require so you can then mail them at will with your advertising stuff with the intention of getting contracts.
This has saved me a lot of time and effort as it would take me ages to do it myself.
Now I can stick the labels on get on with getting contracts/ work etc.
I have mentioned it in the hope it may be of some help to some of you, she also designs websites?

I Think its a means of getting commercial contracts, and looking professional without having to do it yourself.

Dave,
It's basically someone who will provide you with a mailshot mailing list.
I did one myself earlier this year and to be honest it was simple to do; but definately time consuming.
How I created mine was to go through the Thompson Local and our area's Resident's Handbook; I also used Google (for Hotels and Old Folk's Homes), and created a mailshot list.
I used Sarah's 'commercial go-getter' letter; good quality paper and sent them off.

Did you get anything back for your efforts Tosh, as i am thinking along the same lines myself.

We do this! have a database of every building that is perfect for WFP in Dorset, how come, I went round are business and office park (glass buildings) once the list is made, which you must get the person responsible for cleaning or it’s a dead lead, then we mail shot with letter and company brochure, this is a numbers game, a follow up phone call does work even to only find out when the contract is next due for renew, a list like this is a long term thing as most would have a window cleaner but they will come and go and if you details are to hand when they are looking then you stand a better change then anyone else

And we mail shot a news letter ever 6 months

Out of the 50 (approx) I sent out I received three enquiries, but one of them was for two large residential homes for the elderly; both owned by the same company.
Unfortunately I quoted a fair price that would cover each pane of glass getting cleaned to a high standard at a regular frequency.
But the price was obviously too high, since we didn't get the jobs.
Now I'm a little bit wiser, I should've quoted a cheaper price and cut corners to make both jobs economical to the managers; yet profitable for myself.
A better buisnessman than myself must've won the job.
================
That aside; another job I was asked to quote for was the Cherry Tree 'Old Folks Home' in Caldicot.
It would be a brilliant job with a WFP; easy access everywhere; all white PVC frames; so I went in there with a CHEAP quote at £65.
Now I know that doesn't mean much without a couple of photographs; but I thought this job was in 'the bag', since I clean the manger's private house of this establisment; and at £65 per month, I thought it was a bargin for them.
Did we get the job?
No!
