Title: Good day at Express
Post by: Ken Wainwright on September 06, 2006, 06:25:36 pm
I'd like to say thankyou to Mike Boxall and all of his team at Express Cleaning Supplies for an enjoyable time at their Malvern premises.

Hospitality was superb, tea and coffee was always on tap with plenty snacks to nibble at, including some gorgeous, locally grown plums and new season apples :-*

There was good support from industry suppliers such as Prochem, Karcher and others from other areas of the cleaning industry.

Prochem's on the day only offer of half price truckmounts went down well with all ten being sold within the first two hours. No wonder Steve Conway looked so tired ;)

We were also recommended an excellent pub/restaurant not far away, so me and my mate got on our bikes and enjoyed a wonderful late lunch. And yes, we did talk about dirty carpets, motorbikes, flood damage, motorbikes, holidays, motorbikes........

Wouldn't life be awful if we had to work everyday :'(

Thanks for the day Mike

Safe and happy cleaning :)
Ken

Mick why have Photo's of Ken when you can see the real thing at Goodyears on Monday the 18th.
No dout he'll be dressed in his black leather's ;D

On a lighter note it will be an interesting day, from those I have already spoken too that are coming.  Although it's mean't to be a padding day there will be a lot of T/Ms there.
Mr Clark is travelling all the way from bony Scotland with his New Pro-25 he say's its just in case the pads don't clean the carpet for a small and I do mean small fee he'll dash in and clean the bits we miss! :-\

I'll be there as Ken's minder to keep all your gruby hands off his leather clad **se. :-X

Truth is he'll be in his van cus he's got loads of carpets to clean with his red fire engine :'(

Look forward to see you all soon ;D

Just shows what kind of markup they earn if they can afford to give 50% discount.

I'm sure if you rang Prochem they would consider giving you the offer.
No harm in trying is there.

I think you'll find the Prochem thing was said tongue in cheek (hence the wink)

OK

Despite being deluged by calls about truckmounts, Prochem have asked me to confirm that we were not offering truckmounts at 50% discount yesterday! Any orders that were taken would have been taken at the same competitive prices that all customers get!

Ken's comments about discounts were said tongue in cheek - and it took us all day to sell them, not 2 hours!

If you did want to order a Prochem truckmount yesterday but couldn't make it please call us on 0800 9154154 to discuss the range.

Regards

Mike

What me?

Wind up merchant?

No way ;)

Safe and happy cleaning :)
Ken

PS  As you'll see from John's post, the true message is in the detail.

PPS It may also be a lesson learnt that this type of industry event frequently has special offers available on the day only.  It's always worth making the effort to support these events, even if only to have some free tucker and a good chin-wag networking session.

It would appear that my original post above, although correctly signified as being tongue in cheek, had been taken seriously by more than a few CIU'ers and others.

I would like to appologise for any embarrassement caused to Clean-It-Up, Prochem Europe and anyone else who read my post out of context.

Safe and happy cleaning :)
