Have just had a cheap corex sign made that I'm going to prop up outside the house when I'm doing a clean, similar to the ones used by builders etc.
Does anyone on here already do this? Does it bring in any work? Obviously, if it's a success for me I'll let you all know!

I would ask your customer first if before putting that out.
-
Obviously I'd ask the customer first but don't really see any problems as builders, electricians etc do it all the time and it isn't actually very big.

Looks good calmore and hope it gets extra work for you. I find the advertising on the vans do it anyway when youre parked outside a house but let us know if any response to it? ;)
-
I think it looks really good what was the damage?
-
That particular one is 2' x 1' and cost a tenner all-in.

I can't have a sign written vehicle as I have a day job and they frown on anyone having other jobs :(
However, I'm thinking of getting a couple of magnetic signs, or possibly a couple of those 'cling' signs that attach to the insides of the windows, so that I can remove them when I go to my day job.

Calmore if you cant have signs on vehicle then yeah go for it with ya portable sign. Anything that says your name, services and phone number is better than nothing. If van signs are to go by then ya should get people asking you for business cards in the street etc. For a tenner if customers dont mind i think its a good idea and should pay for itself straight away. ;) Good luck.

Damian.

I have also ordered some t-shirts with the same colour scheme (Yuk!)
The idea of the bright colours is to plant it in people's minds so that when they need a clean they think "That yellow and blue company does carpets!" and hopefully remember me!
That's the theory....whether it works in practice is another matter.
I'm also goint to take it to the next car boot sale I do. (I just hope the wife doesn't sell it!)

It never hurts to spread your name calmore! I have had t-shirts for years and this also works if friends or neighbours of custy pop in. I only have the back printed though as im usually facing away from custys especially if im fitting carpets! I get the rip took outta me by mates at bike races etc because i always have my t-shirts on under my leathers-ya never know? But if you can stick to the same colour scheme then it looks more professional

Easyjet paint *everything* orange and Stelios hasn't done too badly!
(Someone told me that even the toilet seats on his planes are orange but I dunno how much truth there is in that)
