Title: Double sided tape on glass
Post by: Timmy Boy on September 05, 2006, 09:34:38 am
Good morning all
I have been asked by one of my clients to remove some double sided tape from their windows. I think it is for the window cleaner to do but to keep the customer happy I am going to do it. The problem is there is 4 squares of sticky tape on each window (where they have had posters up) on about 20 windows. I have tried the WD40 trick but no go, I have tried sticky stuff remover, no go. I have tried using a window scraper but the sticky is too...er..sticky! Any ideas
Regards
Tim

When you say you have tried the 'sticky stuff remover' what was it?  I use a product called de-solve it - available from Tescos - I have used this on tape on glass with excellent results, you just need to leave it for a min or two to penetrate.  It's about £1.99 a can so worth a try if that's not what you have already used.

You can't beat a bit of nail varnish remover.

Try using a new blade on your scraper, ive never had a problem with any sort of sticker, tape, paint, varnish etc etc.
