I have a rule that if it is raining hard enough for the rain  to hit the window then I put the kettle on & wait till it stops.

If it's just drizzle then I carry on.

I don't know if people remember Gary Elford his attitude was get out there you bunch of girls.

We clean in the rain as long as it isnt torrential - we have 600 customers that are on a monthly cycle so it is more that we have to clean them to finish the month without running over.

Justin Ruggles set up a rain guarantee for his customers and we have adopted it.

It basically says that if we clean your windows in the rain and you are not happy we will reclean them - never had a call back yet

Rob ;D (get out there you bunch of fairies) ;D ;D

600 customers you would have to be cleaning them with the weather more than drizzle.

But cause i only have 45 at the moment the clear days are ok with me.

Gazza do u understand now :-\

I went out on saturday morning and it was spitting, not raining.  4 customers asked me to come back another time when it wasnt raining.  I pointed out that it wasnt raining hard enough to make any difference but they didnt want to know.  I cleaned one house and told the lady that if she wasnt happy with the clean i would re clean them when dry but she said they looked great and I can clean her windows come rain or shine.  I think the older generation of customers( i might be wrong) seem to think that rain means no way but the younger ones seem to say clean them if you dont mind getting soaked and they put the kettle on.
I know some of you guys on here would say drop them if they tell you not to clean in the rain but my round is quite small and I have built it from scratch so I would be a fool to myself to throw work away.
Bloody weather.. :)

I don't clean domestics in the rain although i will if its spitting on and off.

I did try cleaning in the rain on domestics but customers didn't like it and a couple cancelled due to me doing them in the rain.

Commercial we clean whatever the weather and don't get any problems from them.

What you need to do is get some wet weather work gutter cleaning is a good one for this.

I have cleaned in light drizzle which was coming down vertically cos of no wind but if its hitting the glass I dont bother because I think the customers will complain.

Drizzle Yes.

Showers Yes.

Heavy Rain NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Its my choice, I cant see the point cleaning windows when its lashing down, You get misreable, The all point in chargeing customers a good price was to make up for it when it rains and you dont work.

whenever we get leads/sales for gutter fascia cleaning we say we will be round the next time it rains there is no way we would do it in bright sunshine ....so save them up cos it makes a big difference when you get a week of naff weather ;)

I have put in our terms and conditions that we clean in the rain....given that we live in rainy area's, if we had to stop for rain...I do not think that much work would get done.

Same here, i have bills that need paying, unfortunatley they dont get paid sitting at home.

we put it to all our customers that we will clean in the rain - not happy?  we'll reclean for free.  We still get people coming out and telling us not to bother - 'its going to rain'!!  Horror!!

Squeeky - you're not big enough to call anyone else a nob.
