I have been asked to quote for a church hall clean but am usually a carpet cleaner. The hall is large with several adjoining rooms. It has had building works entailing a little mess but the main job is simply dust and light soiling throughout. All surfaces simply need sweeping and wiping including walls/ceiling trusses which will need scaffolding. There is a large kitchen and also a couple of fairly large carpeted rooms. Pricing for 3 cleaners for a week, 2 days of scaffolding and half day carpet cleaning, myself there every day. Rough estimate of 2000-2500? What would you quote? The Rev is only getting 2 quotes btw

If your vicar is anything like ours, they will want to pay as little as possible, churches are always pleading poverty.
You will find that most church halls have their own large step ladders for changing light bulbs etc so you should be able to borrow them, and save money on hiring scaffold.

Hi
Careful with the step ladders, if your staff use them and fall, they wil sue you and win, your staff's safety is paramount (and yours of course ;) )

Chees, actually already got scaffolding from the spark who I know. The rev is discussing my quote of 2500 for a thoroughly extensive job with the commitee tonight.

They have stated they will double my quote to ensure a 'pristine condition throughout'...they thought it was a little cheap...this church has money...job will take 5 days with myself and 2 labourers, profit 4,500...not bad.

hi there
so thats a gross profit, before materials, chemicals and your wages.

hi there
just be careful, working at height and scaffolding moving always seemes to take longer than you first think.
but these are good jobs and worth doing.
