hi,
thats good regarding yellow pages, maybe later for me :-\..... i just presumed yellow pages were more likely to produce more commercial work,  and maybe not residential..

Just had another 2 calls from Eastmoor again saying they cant get a window cleaner.
Think you may be right what you said about it,there must be a reason they cant get one. ;)
Did you call at my brothers on Hendal Lane Kettlethorpe.

Just remembered there is another one on Kettlethorpe.
Cant remember number but when ya turn onto Hendal lane the first left turn is Rockley Drive.
Its the second house on the right hand side and their names are Peter and Glyniss.
They are good friends of ours and we used to clean theirs every now and then when we were up there.
As you know we dont go up there any more and they want a regular cleaner. ;)

hi petski  ;)... i rang her straight away but she had got herself another cleaner  :(... yes called at hendal , no one in so i dropped a leaflet and a note saying i was recommended by you,... thanks for the other two calls i will call up in the morning,

i cant afford the wfp yet or the yellow pages advert, :'(... its hard this life at the mo, lol... ijust keep leaflet dropping and canvassing...

i dropped some leaflets on eastmoor yesterday, no response yet...... but i did notice all the windows and sills were shiny clean so there is someone out there..... its likely the calls you are getting could be the customers he has dropped , non payers or just baddy houses eh?

Lesson learnt there Gazza.
The reason she rang me and not you??????
Yellow pages.
£138 for year.
We pay direct debit £13.80 a month over 10 months.
Thats for a box advert.
Sorry to go on about it mate but when I first started and came on this forum all the guys said the same to me and all the time I was thinking
"They just aint listening to me,Iv said I dont have any money yet so how the *u** can I afford a bloody advert in YP"
I just dont want to see other guys make the same mistake as I did,it was a year and half before I got round to it but as soon as it came out the first job we got (within a week) paid for the whole advert. :)
I know its easy for me to go on about it now Gaz but believe me I wish I had done it when I first started up. >:(

yes i know you are right, but i just keep thinking later later later,,, i understand you have to advertise in every way possible and at 13 quid per month its seems ok on the pocket.... will do it in one month from now.! :)

Top man.
There are too many fly by night window cleaners round our area so the more reputable ones we get the better for us. ;)

We took out a big add in the fleet basingstoke book and guildford yellow pages. it cost around two grand. Its only been out over a month and i've had 4 calls and won 3 contracts. wot add up to £4500 a year.

Gary.

I do get a trickle of responses from both Thomson and Yellow Pages.  My Thomson ad was a freebie.  However, nearly all the jobs I've looked at have had no access, have been upper flats (no good with WFP as you drench the windows below) or end of tenancy cleans.  I've done a few end of tenancy cleans now (1-offs obviously).  I do charge high for these as they can be a real headache due to the infrequency of the window cleaning.
The Yellow Pages ad has just about paid for itself after about 4 months but it's not regular work I'm getting.

Get a free listing in yellow pages its only a free line, but wait to see the repsponse. Then get a better ad next year. ;)

Take the free line entry your entitle to .

It might not be the best but been free, certainly helps.

Even if its some one has recommended you but dont have your number to hand at least they will get you in the book.

(and I think you get a " find us in the yellow pages book" sticker for your van
