ive just filtered over 400 ltrs of water to try out my system on cleaning my own windows , can you tell me what happens to the water if left standing , will it still be ok to use 1 or 2 or 3 days etc

To be honest I have no definitive answer other than I use my water on a Monday that was created the Friday before and never had a problem.

I have stored water for 10 days when on holiday and it was still 001 when i went to use it.

One of our storage tanks has 1000 ltr - it has been in the tank for 4 weeks - still 000

as long as there is no contamination in the tank, and no way for contamination to get in then the state of pure water will never change. If it does then its due to one of the above.

ive a spare 25 L barrel in the front passenger footspace, its been there for about 6 weeks now, still 000

As JM says if the tanks are clean, in theory it should last forever. If you have bulk tanks that are opaque you may after some time (weeks) get some bacterial growth if they are exposed to sunlight.

Only leigionaires disease :o after a month or so but only in the filters.

Legionnaires should not be a problem in a static tank of pure water, and why the ref to filters. Legionnaires is generally found in apparatus that are not regularly cleaned, where the water is warm, and where the water is vaporise is some way to form tiny droplets that are carried in the air and are then breathe in by people. Such as its original source in an air conditioning cooling tower in the USA where at a meeting of the " American Legion” in 1976 members were unlucky enough to inhale the vapour, hence the name. Apart from cooling and air conditioning units the only other outbreak I have heard of was in a large jacuzzi/spa on a cruse liner, again poor disinfecting, warm water and fine droplets of water from the jets. If any one has any info on cases of legionnaires in pure tanks of water please let me know. If any one is really worried then dose the water with 5ppm chlorine or fit a small UV with a re-circulating pump.

we have a small UV steriliser in the product line from the 1st di vessel to the storage tanks, probably won't stop legionnaires but may help reduce the chances of it developing.
