I come under the Daft section, I Have a pairs of unger's but after wearing them for a couple of hour, your hands stink and the smell doesn't wash out of your hands that easy, even covering them in talc never really helped, so I sooner do it the daft way. :'(

I tried sealskin last winter, got them a good £10 cheaper than the shops from an equestrian store on e bay
They were great with the added bonus of keeping your hands dry even if you emmersed them in water.
But they did'nt last too long before they begun splitting around the thumb joints.
Think I'll go for the woolens under rubber buiders gloves this winter as its cheaper and durable. If I had the money to splash out I reckon a thermal and waterproof motorcycle glove would be the best, if they can keep your hands warm and dry at 70 mph in the rain and cold, they'd do for wfp! (or trad, sorry)

I haven't voted. I've tried a few. Best so far were not entirely waterproof but luverly and warm, from an outdoor backpacker type shop, cost £25 lasted nearly 1 winter!
Neoprene....pooooooo!

i have 7 mm scuba gloves, very nice, your hands breath a little as they dont stay 100% dry
but very warm first thing in the morning

I have some neoplene gloves and they make my hands ache so usually i don't bother with gloves.
This year i will get a couple of pairs of gloves from omnipole as they are supposed to be really good.
But i won't even think of wearing gloves to at least december.

glad this has come up my 1st winter this year so will be looking at some gloves for me, traditional cleaner, didnt realise there was so many types ??? ???

Cheap black rubber gloves - marigold type. Was going to try the Sealskins but they don't seem to last much longer than the Unger Neo's, which I totally wrecked in under an hour.
For cleanliness reasons, I wear gloves all year round except for leather and scrim work - poof
