has anyone ever been asked to do this?
I've been asked today to quote for the sat and sun morning cleaning of the complex, i'm sure there are showers changing rooms, offices, bar banquet room etc etc
would you charge a premium for weekends?
also, would you charge your regular office cleaning prices?
I'd like to get the job, as we can start straight away and this is what they want. Just haven't been asked to quote for one before.
-
I'm curious - why have you only been asked to quote for the weekends - don't nobody use it during the week?
If I were quoting I would charge a little more - some cleaning companies do pay their staff more for working on sunday. If you don't pay more you may fnd it difficult to find someone willing to work, I mean who wants to get out of bed for 5.50 an hour on a sunday morning just for a couple of hours work? Not many people I'm sure. I have seen cleaners being offered 8 per hour for sunday work.
I hope the above helps. :)

Golf clubs / leisure clubs = 7 days a week 364 days per year. So allow for bank holidays, cover, early morning cleaning & being a general pain!! If you are just doing the weekend that will mean that the club will do the easy bit (ie mon-fri) and you get the wonderful job of trying to get people to do weekends. If they are just having a weekly clean you will be vacuuming up a weeks worth of mud in the winter!!

hi
Iv'e been to check it out today. They have a guy who cleans (not too well we did notice) mon-fri. they wanted like us to do weekends and mon-fri sick & hol cover.
No equipment/materials are required, as they are all supplied. We would just need to turn up and get the job done.
I think i'll not do a £ per hour, but a weekend rate, so maybe £50 saturday (2 cleaners) and £60 for sunday (2 cleaners) or is that too drastic? They have specified the hours they think it will take already. 2-2.5 per cleaner per day. they will just work our rate out anyway.
Short notice cover same rate as the sundays i think £12p/h
cover with at least notice, then normal rate.
what do you think?
-
Will you have a contract with them?
Personally, Lisa, I'd avoid it - I simply wouldn't like to be considered....just another cleaner......if I run a company then I supply the contract, materials and most certainly wouldn't share the 'contract' with anyone else.
That is simply my opinion - it just doesn't sound like a good idea.
Whatever you decide I wish you the best of luck with it. Btw, I would personally pay the cleaners by the hour...........your weekend rate, in my opinion, is rather high but that's because I would simply charge an hourly rate with sunday being increased. :)
-
have i confused us all? the rates are what i'm thinking of charging the club.
cleaners on £6 odd per hour (well, me and the biz partner for now)
Thanks for your opinions. Too right i'm just finalising the quote and sending contract details as we speak.....type.
-
Sorry Lisa, I obviously misread it - it did appear you were implying that the figure you gave would be what you'd be paying the cleaners.......well, at least I did state it seemed rather high! ;)

;D
long day....got the better of me.
i think it would be quite fun cleaning the golf club.....lots of new faces and all that, could get some domestic work out of it even. (if we get it at our prices that is)

just got a golf club ourselves but its hard to cover weekends but this one wants it cleaning at 5am

hi spa
is it a big club?
if you don't mind me asking what did you quote for your weekend work?
-
sent email
-
hi lisa
did you get email
i think we could have got a bit more but i was a good job to get
ian

hi spa, yes thank you, i got your email.
I'm waiting for the golf club to get back to me.
Maybe i went in a bit low, judging by what you priced it. Although i did state on the quotation tht service will be reviewed every 3 months, so maybe i can edge my prices up. Hopefully they will get back to me soon.
Did you have to supply all equipment etc, as i don't so, maybe my price is a bout right?!
-
no they supply everything we need gave them a list and they got it all

Hi
Just lost a golf club tender myself...
Wasn't the most expensive and even new the club secretary!
But it was down to the commitee and they chose another company, ah well.
I cover for another one when their in- house cleaners go away. Job is very easy but as you say the hours are tough, try cleaning it at 11.30 pm after they close, it is much easier to do.

thats what we wanted to do but they wanted 5am as they have functions on a night
-
Hi
Yes (Sometimes) they do have functions but if you are holding the keys then entering at 11.30 pm shouldn't be an issue on most nights, usually the bar still closes at 11pm.
Get a list of monthly functions and explain that by coming in at night you remin invisible to their customers and their die hard, endurance, 5 am golfers

I didn't get a reply after i asked last week, so i'm guessing, that we didn't.
I'll contact them again tomorow, but i'm not holding any hope for it now.
Thanks
