I've said yes, but I've seen them used on some boards and they can be quite divisive. It all depends on the options and the way the questions are worded.

So that's a "Yes, Maybe" from me.

Interesting comment. I'm trying to work out if/how moderators can edit anything untoward. Still playing with it at the moment but will keep you informed!

Hi Mike.
The missuses is watching telly so Eastenders must of started. Have seen these on footie sites e.g. man of match, they give about 6 options and they seem to work fine.

Steve, it seemed like a good idea to me but I guess we'll have to see how it goes.

There are a few good points like people can't vote more than once and moderators can edit other peoples polls themselves. I guess they can be abused much like anything else but we'll see how it goes.

Have fun - I've had enough for today (need to get back to see the Rebecca Loos thing.....loos by name, loos by nature so I've heard ;D )

I think the boards get more interesting when there is a cobflict of opinion.

The problem is that everyone takes it so seriously.

Nick, it was just a test to see if it works OK

I agree with Ian that some people take it too seriously and there is a risk that people can fall out over trivial issues. Should we consider some guidelines on the use of the poll facility i.e. should we avoid polls that only mention one company and or product? I'm not sure that a question like 'Is machine XYZ any good' would give a result of any value.

All opinions on this are appreciated
