I know this subject has been discussed quite a bit but I was interested in your answer to a few specific questions,
1: What trousers do you lot wear, do you find combat/cargo pants with the side pockets useful, or do you wear tracky bottoms. If you wear combat style pants, where's the best place to get decent quality at a good price. (these workwear catalogues & websites seem to want to charge you the earth & as I dont want my name embroidered on them, thought I could get cheaper elsewhere)
2: What combination of tops have you bought, eg, t-shirt & fleece, polo shirt & sweatshirt, you know the thing. Want to know what you guys have found most useful, don't want to buy a load of embroidered stuff that just sits at the bottom of my wardrobe.
3: Do you think baseball caps with your name embroidered on, look naff
4: Colour schemes; we were thinking of navy blue pants , wth red shirts(pink for my wife!) & fleeces & navy blue basball caps, embroidered in white cotton, any thoughts.
5: Oh & definately finally, if you do use anybody that you think are the bees knees & are reasonable please let me know

I just buy my trousers from a workwear shop near where I live. Only cheap but they take a hammering. Search on Alexandra Workwear. They are a good supplier.

dickies trousers are hardwearing and fairly cheap (in the right places, in the wrong places they cost the earth, its the fashion of the "young un's" today

I've just been on Protecs website (got a catalogue thru the post the other day)
For £80 (Incl vat & del) I could get the following,
2 Pairs of combat style pants
3 T-Shirts
2 Polo Shirts
1 Fleece
1 Bodywarmer
All with embroidered logo apart from the trousers.
Good value or expensive?

Remember when getting you uniforms printed that most people will see you from the back.
I find the best places to be a local sign writing company.
Large lettering on the back of shirts, sweatshirts and coats.
Smaller and more subtle on the front but not embroidered. My guys get trousers and shirts replaced every 6 months and new sweatshirts and top coats every year. They do get tatty and aren't a good image if they get left this way.

I suppose it depends why you want a uniform, I'm not wearing one to advertise my company, personally I feel large lettering on the back looks a little naff.
I want a uniform so I look smart especially on my commercial work, embroidered looks more classy in my opinion
