Title: CONSERVATORY ROOF CLEANING
Post by: robbie14000 on August 23, 2006, 07:36:21 pm
Hi all, Could you give me a guide as to how much you charge for cleaning a conservatory roof.
I read on this thread that someone charged £200.
Is this true.
I have done several but only ever charged up to £50.00.
This was to clean the roof, guttering and spikes on top.
Took me about 1.5 hours.
Am i under charging or do you do other things on the conservatory for those sort of prices.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Robbie - Clearshine- Harrogate

£50 fair price for 1.5 hours work, take some claims with a pinch of salt and work for your own rates, rates that suit your area but def not cheap but fair
good luck simbo

I do conservatory cleaning as a major add on to my window cleaning...my prices start from £100  !!

That includes...finials..roof....roof struts...end caps....guttering.....all pvc on outside....and glass.

average one takes 2 - 21/2 hours.

I guarantee that the conservatory will look as good as new.

Yes i have done a roof that was £200, that was a monster of a roof!!...ive also done an inside and out for £250.

Throughout the summer i did a leaflet drop for c cleaning, and was unindated, and the recommendations were unbelievable.

When i get my new van the back of it will be dedicated to cons cleaning with the sign writing.

hope ths helps     Mick

Mick this is something i myself am going to promote alot more aswell,  people will pay you even though they might not want a windowcleaner, have done a lot of upvc cleaning but mainly last year when i started out. was thinking of pushing pvc cleaning really hard next year as i think its could be very lucrative would then would try a £200 quote
all the best mate i was not doubting your prices just general comment

Mick, i've read in your other posts about having a conservatory ladder but are there any other equipment or materials you use to be able to clean every part of a conservatory?

cheers

all i use is....conservatory ladder....a 4 ft pole extends to 8ft which i connect to an outside tap....pump sprayer with a non caustic tfr mixture,      sponge...pvcu cream cleaner....and pure water for the glass.

1st, spray the roof with the tfr, allow bout 5 mins while you set your ladder up etc then clean with tap water.

Once the roof and finials are cleaned, the end caps will clean with just a wipe of a sponge as the water and tfr has run down over them and loosened all the grime up.

With a sponge, use a cream cleaner and wipe all the pvcu, gutters, between the gutters and frames.

With the pole i use for the roof, i then wash off the cream and grime, then hose down after.

All this with loads of elbow grease will give you perfect results every time.

I havent got any pics at the mo, but hoping to have some real good ones soon, as i want to put before and after pics on the back of my van!

When ever i get a call for a roof clean, i go and quote and always get a full clean, there for i never  quote under £100!!

Hope this helps  ;)

Mick I think you are talking about the job I was quoting for, have a look at the pics and you'll see why I charge £200 for it!!  I reckon its a fair price, will take nearly a whole day to do with a cherry picker.  You can make good money from them but I would advise using them as an add on, we charge between £25 and £40 an hour.

I charge £20 per hour...you never know how long each one will take so find hourly quotes to be the safest and fairest way of pricing up the job
