Just read a post on the 'dreaded leaded' thread and there was some dialogue re microfibre and some being poor quality,I use Ungers microfibre and find it ok but wondered what sort do others use and what works for you or doesnt.
-
Unger.
Love it. :D
-
Yeah me too Squeaky, had not realised there was another brand(s).
-
OK mate, what brand do you prefer?
-
Guys,
This thread is about microfibre brands, please stay on topic, I've removed the replies that strayed.
Their was nothing offensive in them, but please, no comparisons to scrims, towels or newspaper, anything WFP will be deleted, ditto squeegee :-X

Squeaks prefers the small microfibre cloths, personally I find them awful, I prefer the larger ones, they last so much longer through the day.
I've used Unger in the past, but I now use the 'cleantech' own brand ones, they are no different to the Unger ones, merely a little cheaper to buy.
As I understand it, places like Macro have Microfibre cloths that are way cheaper than those we get from dedicated suppliers, I can't comment on them personally as I've never had one to use or even seen one, but I'm told they are good.

I thought there was a dialogue going on about microfibre that then led to alternatives and didnt realise there would be 'bother' by other aspects or alternative options re microfibre being brought into the matter.Sorry if the thread deviated from the title that I myself began but I was finding it interesting the way it was going by finding out about other experiences and opinions which is always helpful. This forum has been a massive help to me and I appreciate any insights/advice I can pick up.Sometimes a thread will start which develops along other lines but related to the issue which I think is natural but apologies for seeming to cause a problem.
-
Actually Pirate Jack, I only deleted your posts that were not in anyway related to the topic!! :P
Captain Lard,
It's ok, you haven't done anything wrong as such, but when a topic is pretty specific it really needs to stay on topic, otherwise it is just meandering chat that goes into freefall.
were I not a moderator I'd probably be quite happy to add my own twopenorth' But I gotta be strict else I'm not doing me job :-\

the microbibre you get in the supermarket ar not the same as unger.
unger are for detailing.
supermarket microbibre are for cleaning sills and windows if clothing with pure water and such like. Different uses/Different cloths.

Unger - the large ones.
The small ones were irritating.
We did try some from a supermarket but they didn't seem to do as good a job.
Another thing I've noticed is the Unger one's are now thinner than when they first came out.

I bought some small cheap microfibre cloths about 18 months ago and thought they were rubbish i gave them to the mrs.
About 6 months ago i bought the unger giant ones well they are a differant kettle of fish there great.
Just a pity they are light green and get marked straight away.

Yeah, they look pretty scabby straight away, but I don't care if they continue doing such a great job.
Anyone know how long they last compared to scrims?
