Hi peeps
What is the average waiting time from when you put in a tender to hearing whether your sucessfull or not. I'm just wondering whether I should wait a certain time before making a follow up call.

If you are not successful.......chances are you will not hear from them. If you are successful, first you will know about is with the good news in the post.
However, if you are to call a week after you have posted your tender, and say you are checking to see if it has arrived ok, you would then have the opportunity to ask how it compares to their budget and the other tenders. Chance here to possibly make a couple of changes from the info gathered. However, do not sell yourself short by making it cheap......just to get the tender.
But if you are not successful, maybe an idea to keep the date in your diary, so the same time next year you could re-tender, as their new cleaners may be crap!!
One thread from many months ago (poss CMS??) suggested re-tendering every month and readjust pricing etc as needed. You may have to do a search on that to find out though. Just because you have lost the tender to another company, does not mean that they are a good cleaning company. If after a month they are rubbish, the client may be looking elsewhere already.......and delivered to his desk is your tender again. May use you after all your efforts.
Hope that gives you a little idea.
Regards
Tim

When you go to do a quote just ask when they are wanting the job to start and when will the lucky person be informed

It's a week now since I quoted for them. I asked all those sorts of questions but all I got from them is that they are p***ed off with their current cleaners (who they've had for years) and are looking to replace them asap and that I was 1 of 3 companies to quote.
As it it my first potential commercial I put a nice looking pack together and sent it off at their request.
I might leave it till the end of the week and give them a call see what's what.

If its over a week and they are not happy with the ones they have I would phone them in the morning
