Roy,

We do around 350 jobs a calandar month.

That's around 16 to 20 per day; every working day; me full time; Wor Lass turning part time and another helper one-day per week.

But I'm finding that as time goes on, I'm taking on bigger jobs and dropping my smaller accounts so were decreasing our number of customers; yet still increasing our income.

I bet you still turn-over more that us!!!!

Git.

Roy

For only 105 jobs per month, do you really require George?

If you work 20 days each month, that equates to 5 or 6 jobs per day.

I know you're knocking on a bit, but surely you could just remember them!

Rich,

I am, sort of; happy with how we're doing.  I'm still skint all the time though; paying off debts accumulated while building up my round  (Gordon Brown's fault; mostly), plus Wor Lass and I aren't the most sensible with money; but I'm enjoying the work too.

But, sometimes is just too easy for Wor Lass and I to bang out enough work in three-hours to hit a three-figured number and then call it a day.

So lazyiness is getting in the way; at times; or I'm feeling a bit burnt out and have at least two days per week where we only do slightly more than the minimum required.

We're off for a short break towards the end of the month; so hopefully on my return I'll be feeling re-freshed and I shall pull my finger out and start hunting out some bigger/better jobs again.

Have been out this week putting leaflets out and got 11 calls from 1000 leaflets and got 8 jobs from that....Our doorknocking did not go that well....3 hours and got 1 'maybe'....but as a wise man once said...The longest journey begins with a single step....

Cheers
Dave.

I have been building up since March as a one man band and have got about  90 jobs a month but need to double that at least but am worrying bout it ticking over in the winter.

The winter is your best time for picking up business.

The amount of window cleaners that disappear during the winter is incredible.

Year on year I pick up approximately 70% of new customers from November to March simply because they see the vans and stop the lads.

Opening sentence " excuse me, you couldn't clean my windows could you as my last window cleaners has not come back for months"

Don't worry about the winter, worry about fitting them all in.

I tell you what Roy you have either too much time on your hands or you need to get out more!!!!!!!!!!    ;) ;) ;)

I haven't a clue how many jobs I do in a month, it's not the amount , it's how much you earn that counts isn't it?

The reason why I am worrying about the winter is that at the moment I am what is known as a mature student,I jacked in a full time office job last September and started a university degree course, first year went well and year two starts end of september,I began WC-ing because I could fit it in given my schedule last year and because I knew from May to end September I was finished uni till Year 2 begins.
But I dont yet know what me timetable is going to be for September to DEcember and then it will change for end January-May,plus my wife is doing a course as well which makes it a bit more complicated,so am waiting to see how our schedules break down to see whn I can clean and then am worrying about the weather.Hopefully there will be a couple of weekdays 'spare' and saturday but at the same time I will have a ton of reading/essays and exams to do for the course.
