my water here in n ireland is about 140 ppm. until now i have been using di tank only, but am looking to buy 75 gpd 4 stage ro unit. can i fit this -
tap/ro unit/di tank/water tank. it says on the spec that max flow rate is 2 gpm, so with a bit of maths that means approx 1/2 hr for 250 ltr tank. is it really that simple, i could just run it from my tap into van in 1/2 hr. what about connectors/fittings. any advice

hi Bob, a 75gpd unit will produce on average 160-200ltrs of pure water per day, prob not enough. Where abouts are you? I supply parts and systems and am based in Ballymena.

hi jm123, am in L/Derry. I would only need 250 to 300 lts a day, but does that mean it would take all day to fill, and would I then need stirage tank and transfer pump

excuse the spelling - keyboard is a bit iffy

Hi Bob, 75gpd means 75 USgal per 24 hrs at 100psi and water temp of 20c, not likely with our climate, plus its highly unlikely your water pressure is anywhere near 100psi, mine is 48psi. If you don't want a storage tank and transfer pump setup then go for a merlin feeding directy into the tank in your van/trailer. The merlin will produce 300ltrs in around 4hrs on average, you could then run the water throught the di.
It will work out out a lot cheaper than di only in the long run.
