Hi all,
since yesterday i have had probs with nearly no pressure, pump is shurflo 100 psi, notised i seem to be getting airlocks now, when i release air its fine as pressure builds until pump cuts so that when i first release tap on pole no prob, until pressure drops almost straight away to near nothing. If i shut pole tap pump just keeps going with not much happening and pump does not cut again i am guessing its the pressure switch but not 100% but driving me nuts, the water coming through is low pressure and full of air
any help welcome

Hi simbo,it sounds exactly how mine went and it was the pressure switch,so a varistream was the answer i would highly reccomend one, saves so much water,i have fitted one in my van mount and one on my selfbuilt backpack ;D,Gaz

to test if its your pressure switch: disconnect the 2 red wires in the bottom of the pump, and then simply join them together. if your pump runs then its your pressure switch gone (very likely to be this by the sounds of it).
we did have problems with some of these on our systems, so now we fit all units with a varisteam as standard. never had a problem since!

simbo, you leave the pressure switch in,all you do is disconnect the 2 red wires and 1 of them you won`t need you then connect the other 1 direct to the varistream with the black wire and then the 2 wires from your battery to the varistream easy and save on water, heres a link,Gaz

Hi simbo
First of all have you let the water in the tank run low ?, if you have you will propably find that you have an air lock in your system, your pump will not run at all if your pressure switch has gone.
A pressure switch is an electrical component it either works or it dosent, you say you can hear your pump running so idont think it,s your pressure switch.
When you bleed your system ensure your pump is below the height of the outlet from your tank ;)

The same thing happened to me on thur airlock built up then it was ok packed up at 4.30.
Dashed home got onto williamson pumps ordered pressure switch, a new pump (just in case) and a varistream.
Switch was about £16. Delivered 8am on friday
Hows that for service
I fitted the new pressure switch (5 mins) and all ok.
Now got spare pump

confused now, did as welmac suggested and pump still ran indicating switch gone now jeff you say you do not think so, hope it is switch as ordering one tomorrow

Hi simbo
You dident say weather you had let your water run low ?
And i say that about your pressure switch because mine went on my flojet pump and it would not work at all, fortunatly i had allready bought a varistream controler and as soon as i fitted it the pump was fine.
Your first post suggests that your pump is running without doing the test welmac has suggested.
Cheers jeff

Simbo,
Best method to check if it is a faulty pump, place your inlet pipe in a bucket of
water and if water comes out then you will know it is not the pump.
You will then need to check all connections or even take then off from your
tank to the pump to make sure there is no blockage or air locks.
Hope it works
Cheers
