hi

ive just won a small contract to clean some communal areas in 4 blocks of flats floors windows dusting light switches etc
been asked if i can draw up a contract and details of cleaning so he can show tenants as charge is being passed onto them as service charge any help would be great as not sure how to set it all out

Surely it's just a matter of setting it out logically  ???

Not knowing the layout of the building, it's difficult to tell you exactly what to do.

Therefore, would the most logical way would be to set it out floor by floor?  Eg. Ground floor = # windows, #sq ft walls (approx), skirting, carpet, etc. . .

Then repeat for the other floors, with an overall one for any shared (such as lifts & stairs).

As it's only the communal areas, I don't suppose your client would be expecting War & Peace  ;D

Then just divide the price you have quoted accordingly.  Simple spreadsheet should do it.

wanting to get into communal areas myself, how did you find out about getting your contract? did u approach them or other way round? any help would be great? we are based in the newcastle area

i was recomened to them by someone i do end of tenancy cleans for

its a developer whos buying up all the old factorys round my local area and turning them into flats my contracts for 4 blocks at the moment but hes working on another 2 projects as well so going to be lots more to do

i would look out for work going on like this round your area and go and approach them on site
