Title: Truck mount Defoamer?
Post by: Chris R on August 06, 2006, 09:19:30 pm
Do  truckmount owners use defoamer in the waste tank ?

Do you put it in every time, or just when you feel that its needed?

With a portable it was easy to have a quick look in the waste tank, and if it was foaming up, add defaomer. Its not so easy with a truck mount waste tank.

Will foam ( suds) damage a truck mount blower if its pulled through it?

Thanks

Chris

Hi chris,
Due to the size of a t/m waste tank in 5 years i have never found that i need it,
but if you do use it it should never reach the blower as it should be stay in
the waste tank.

̀ carry de-foamer around with me all the time although I rarely use it. Just remember that the automatic cutoff is unlikely to activate because of the density of the foam.

Pulling a little foam through the blower now and again does not seem to harm it if you empty the machine, run it dry and then spray your lubrication through.

I only use defoamer in my t/m if I have presprayed with something that froths up like Prochem Fabric Restorer or that new powder-mix Power Burst then you really need it. I didnt one time & the thing seized up bad enough to stall the t/m. When in doubt shove some in, a 5l bottle lasts for ages.
