Has any1 ever used the companys that go around an area and creat a WC round? If so how efective are they how much do they cost and have any1 had any problems with them. If you have had good results please could you let me know the address of ther site as i am wanting to exspand my work. ;)

Hi Biscute
I use Doorknockers to get my additional work. The results are excellent.
You can dictate what kind of house you want to target and what price point you're looking
for. All their work is backed-up by a guarantee and if any customer drops out within 2 months
they replace the work.
Only problem is, nowadays they're quite busy, so you have to book them well in advance, the website
is www.doorknockers.homestead.com
All the best

To be honest i phoned up a company who uses this forum to come to my area in July it took me over 3 weeks to get a reply and when the date was set up for the first week of July i never recived a phone call i tried leaving emails the week before still no reply.
So i got myself and 3 good mates and went out canvassing for 2 weeks Flat monday to friday night for 3 hours every night i managed to pick up nearly double for what i was goin to pay that company for.
Good job i didnt waste my time with them
If i was you do what i done get out there and do it yourself saves you a fortune

if you can spare the time do it yourself and save money if on the other hand you are restricted to time i've heard that doorknockers are good, (never used anyone myself, did all my own canvassing)

I have heard very bad reports about one or two canvassing companies,. also heard good reports about the same companies.
Same as always , buyer beware and make double sure what you are signing up for.
I would not trust anyone to canvas for me, but thats me

To be honest i would not trust or pay anyone anymore dont see the point, everyone as a spare few mins here and there what does it take to knock a doorand say "hi there just wondering if i could interest you in a regular window cleaner" its gonna be a yes or a no if its a yes just say how much and how regular and if its a no give them a leaflet incase they change there mind and say sorry for interruping you simple!
Yeserday i had just finished collecting and i was stuck in traffic i was just looking at some houses and noticed they had dirty windows so i pulled over and went and knocked the door 6 houses in total got 3 of them 1 didnt wanna no and the other 2 i put leaflets in Not bad for being stuc in traffic

Ive seen the bad end of inappropiate pricing by 'canvassing companies'.
he problem being that once quoted, you are morally obliged to at least do the first visit (as this is when you will first find out if the canvassing company has under priced).
As we all know, its easier to get blood out of a stone than to up prices, (especially with a new customer base that dont know you yet), so be careful not to get dumped with cheap washes just because the canvassing company wanted the sale!
3 points that you may wish to negotiate with a canvassing company:
1), if anything is underpriced then you will get a full refund on the charge for that property (as you may have to drop it anyway)
2), tell them to avoid houses with original leaded and Georgian panes. (You are paying ofr a round to built, get them to work hard for you and to find the 'easier' houses, rather than ending up with the hard ones that no other cleaner touched for years because they are unprofitable.
3) get your canvasser to inform the customer of that the first wash may be charged at a higher rate than the regular price depending on the state of the windows / frames.
These are all important factors. You are paying someone to do this for you, so dont settle just for what he finds for you, be specific and ensure he builds it to how you want it.
Good Luck
Grant.

EXACTLY YOU MUST STEER CLEAR OF DOORKNOCKERS OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR MONEY.

hello andy, why do you hate doorknockers so much?
-
Once you've got one house in any area, you simply knock on the next-door-neighbour's door and a few houses opposite. Do this a few times and you should be able to pick up a bit of new business.
Failing that, stop another window cleaner in the area and offer to buy some work off him. That's how I got started and have never looked back.

I reckon it's because they're both in the business of building and selling window cleaning rounds. If he keeps badmouthing the opposition, he thinks that people will go to him instead. What he should be doing is to show people why his own company are good as that is more attractive to most people.

This is 'Doorknockers' here!
Amazing statements again from 'andypandy' the forum 'joker'
Holland 1945 does'nt feel he has been ripped off, nor does Mark H, nor does Genesis windows of Gloucester, i could go on and on.
Unless you can substantiate your wild claims 'Andypandy'
Dont bother because the vast majority on this forum, have already made their mind up about you.
These doragatory statements are just making you look sillier than i already thought you were.
Furthermore my full address and business details are on my website which is http://www.doorknockers-gb.com, now i bet if i asked nicely you would'nt furnish me with your address or contact moby would you!
Nuff said!
Paul :)
