I have been offered verified leaflet distribution for £25 per thousand, delivered along with a local magazine.
Is this cheap/expensive?
-
if your leaflet is the only one delivered with the magazine, it goes out in a nice area and they can prove it gets delivered, then this is a good price.
how often does the magazine go out? and how many?

If they get delivered £25 a thousand is a bargain.
I would expect four jobs back per thousand at around £100-£125 each
So £400 - £500 back from £25 ;D
Everyone gets a different response, and we all charge different money, but a thousand leaflets should bring back a lot more than £25

It's a circulation of 10,000 copies every month. I can choose how many leaflets get sent out (In multiples of 1000) and can choose roughly the areas that the leaflets get distributed in.
It's not an exclusive thing; in theory there could be loads of leaflets in the magazine. However, when we have received it in the past it very rarely comes with any leaflets.
The cost of the leaflets aren't included, I have to supply those (But they collect FOC)

as red said if they get delivered sounds good. i paid for 35000 to be delivered and did not get one reply i did a bit of investigation with people i knew who lived in the area and you guessed it they never went out and this was in a 'respected' local paper. when you question them they just come out with the old rubbish and its hard to prove every house did not get one unless i knocked on every door . i will never use them again

I have so far been had over by 6 different companies >:(
trying another one this week, and if they cant deliver my only other option is royal mail.
but as soon as you do find someone reliable, thats it your buisness is a success ;D
Iv been putting out 2500 a week over the weekend with the help of two other guys for the last month or so
and im now taking over a £1000 a week working a four day week ;D and fully booked for the next 2-3 weeks ;D
You really have no option but to try every delivery company you can, till you find a good one
ps. you have to deliver yourself first though, so you know what response to expect else you will never know if there being deliverd or not ???

HI
I've used Royal Mail.
There just like all the others.

So Red,
you're working a 4 day week, earning a Grand, buying a new van & truckmount, going into fastrack, planning on putting out 7.5k leaflets a week, booked up for 2-3 weeks ( how do you get booked up for 2-3 weeks? its either 2 weeks or 3 or do you mean 2 and a half)
life's just a box of chocolates for you isn't it ;) ;)
Mike
-
I had a box of chocolates once.
Dave

i once ate a chocolate box, but that's a completely different story ;)

hi folks im thinking of using a company called sprint advertising have any of you used them or know of them :)
-
Hi Mike,
Booked up for at least two weeks, and have seven quotes to do monday so expect to get a couple more booked in and iv got my fast track training days to start from the 10th as well.
Got the van ;D
still working on the t/m ;)
only looking to do 5000 leaflets a week, but as im trying a new company this week with 5000 (and i dnt trust them) im still gonna do my usual 2500 a week until i see how it goes.
As for life being a box of chocalates, i wish
iv got £8 in my pocket at the minute and owe the bank £1600 and im working a 7day week 4days cleaning, 2days leaflets, and 1day doing quotes.
But things are looking up ;)

Hi Red,
Best of luck with your new van, and t/m when you get it. We met very briefly at the NCCA /Altec event. I was also inspired and took away useful tips.
As for the £8, in due course that will multiply and make you wealthy. You will then be able to purchase cadbury scheppes. You WILL then have all the chocolate (in boxes) if you wish that you can eat or give away.
Leaflet delivery - Of all the systems and companies I have used, you cant beat taking a few people to selected areas and delivering them yourself. Although on the surface it doesnt appear cost effective, I think it is.
-
Cheers Mark,
Cost effective yes, but far to time consuming.
The company im gonna try next week are a franchise (door2door) anyone used them before?
Another option im thinking is to have someone on a minimal wage come out with me on the van on a daily basis, get them to help set me up on the jobs and then have them deliver the leaflets in the area im working.

Red
Is it door 2 door in Mold.
If so I use them and put out around 10,000 every 2 weeks or so with them.
Speak to Steve Aston he is the guy I deal with and is good at getting things done.
I get about 1 call per 1000 leaflets delivered ( they go out in a free paper)

Another question..I have studied a few CC flyers that various people have collected for me and have noticed something strange. There is a tendancy towards using pink paper!
Why pink paper? Is there some subliminal message? Is pink paper cheap?
-
no pink paper is not cheap, pink paper because the leaflet in the main is aimed at the ladies. It is said that up to 93% make the domestic carpet / upholstery cleaning decsion. So it makes sense to target them.
-

When I worked for the FT (Financial Times at Bracken house) I ask the same question why pink, bleaching cost money! You got it cheap, think things have changed since then, green would be good eco friendly and all, but one needs to target potential customers, so pink is good.
