Hi all,
Just wondered what your best and worst tips have been.
My best was a full house clean when the bloke paid the £200 cheque for the job and gave me £40 cash as a tip, thankyou very much!
The worst is obviously nothing but I've had £1, £2's as well? Mainly from older customers who think you can still have a night out on it ;D
Theres been a few bottles of wine thrown in along the way as well, much appreciated!
Anyone had a good or bad one or something completely different?
Kind regards,
Jason.

on percentage i suppose i would have to say a job last week where i did a quick job for £40 and was given an extra £10 25% tip its always nice to get a tip regardless of how much as it shows appreciation

When I worked for the cheap company I got loads of tips. Now that my prices are higher I rarely get tips.
My theory is that if I get a lot of tips then my prices are too low.

£300 job, clean and protect 3 bed house = £30 tip
get tipped on around 50% of jobs, and for some strange reason it seems to be the ones that moan about price and try to haggle at the survey that tip.

Biggest tip £35.00
One lady also gave me a great big wooden wishing well out of her garden, she paid £80.00 6 weeks earlier for it, but decided it was too big for the house she was due to move in to.

I often find its the people who seem to have nowt that are most generous when it comes to giving tips.
Most unusual was a carrier bag of Fresh Garden Mint !

Jar of home made pickled shallots last week :D

custys garden backed onto an exclusive golf course, she had collected them over some period of time, and when I mentioned I played golf,

I hope the taxman isn't reading this. Did you know binmen and postmen have a lower tax allowance because the tax man expects them to make so much in tips.

Best £20
Worst "my dad has sent some tomatoes round for you from his greenhouse" ::)

I find the same as you guys the tips vary from £1 to £25 / bottle of wine or 3 bottle once.
For some strange reason I have had 2 moaners this week which is really strange first was a 3 piece suite I cleaned I had 2 air movers blowing it dry and the lady said can you switch them off as my son pays the electric bill and the little dial is wizzing around.
The other was a £250 job for a suite and a couple of carpets, again had turbos going and the guy came in and said this is a good business you have no over heads. I said what do you mean no over heads he said well im payiong for all the electric your using.
He was very embarresed though when I presented him with the bill £250 minus £5 for electric used and good will put a free protector on suite and gave a bottle of spotter free.
Very red faced.
But still a misrable git
