Guys,
Need your help in this as looking to see if it is worth while investing in a
RO unit as currently have DI system.
What RO unit do you have, what is the TDS reading after RO unit.
How often do you change your filters.
How long do you find your resin lasts, 25l bag.
Thanks

Hi Doug, I got a 200gpd pumped Ro from RoMan, and have just upgraded it by adding another membrane to make it a 300Gpd unit. My tap tds is 175-190 and the Ro output tds is 001-002, and I make 1L every 100sec's (just under 0.75L per min)
I change the pre-filters every 5-6 months ,costs about 22.00 for all 3 prefilters.
I have an 11L di vessel and I've had it for just over 5 months and the tds is still 000 today. I guess that my di resin will last a year at least because it's only removing 001-002 tds to give me pure water.
I haven't bought any spare resin as I figure that when it's spent I'll still be able to work with my RO water as it's 001-002 anyway.

Thanks Tim,
Some good info it, has given me some +/- points
+) Running costs will be reduced from £300 to £140 a year ( This is resin +
filters)
-) Will have to buy R/O system, cost around £250 would take a year to recover
costs from savings above.
-) Filling time is longer, with R/O system 250l would take 4hrs+, DI only takes
15 mins
-) Waste from R/O system
Can anyone help on another question please, if I put a booster pump in
front of the R/O would this speed up the filling time. My pressure from my tap
is high so would this make a difference.
My TDS is 40 from the tap.
Cheers
Doug
