Title: Stonework renovation
Post by: Andy Foster on August 02, 2006, 04:19:19 pm
Hi all

I have been asked to restore some sandstone stonework for someone.
The stone is 100 years old, been open to industrial atmosphere (soot and grime) and has never been cleaned.

Any ideas on a solution to this.

I have tried steam cleaning... didn't touch it!

Thanks.

Andy

Hi, thanks for that.

Will that not just remove the surface?
If at all possible, I would like to remove the colouring without affecting the surface...if that is simply not possible, then so be it, but if there is a solution that will remove the colouring that would be the ideal.
