A lot of people say that universal poles are brtter than extender ones? Is this true?
Are they fibre glass?
I need a pole quickly and can't make my mind up. It has to be 40ft+ and not weigh too much. Cant aford carbon fibre. What are my options?
Cheers

Extender poles only go up to 18ft so you wont be able to get a 40ft one , i have an Extender pole and love it my mate has an excel pole and it is heavier

The Universal and extender poles are both fibreglass poles.
I've never seen nor would I want to a 40ft plus fibreglass pole.
If you can find one it will be seriously heavy.
Maybe your only option is to try Peter Fogwill. I think he does Unger aluminium ones at 40ish ft. He is the guy who does the auto brush. If this is for one job only then maybe the aluminium will do. It will be seriously whippy though I think but just may get you out of a tight spot.
I cant remember the name of Peter's company or his website.
Maybe someone else around here can help you to find it.

I got one and yes OMG is it heavy I would not want to use it for too long
Mine gets used for about 30 mins every other month for one job only and at the moment thats more than enough

Thanks for the offer of the pole.
Maybe I will just wait and save up for a carbon fibre one :'(

I still know someone with a up to 60ft c/f ergo fpr £495

Jeff,
I would love that pole! The only way I could ever afford it was if I could pay it in two instalments! Even then its a lot of money.
Is it in good condition? Could you email me a pic of one of the sections and give me some details on it?

Put one of Gaz brushes on an 18' extender pole and you have one of the lightest poles money can buy at a cheap price. the whipping effect is not an issue cos the brush is so light.

ive got a 30ft facelift gf pole which is very light i would have thought the 40 foot wouldnt be much heavier as the sections are so thin , my 30ft facelift is just a bit thicker than my 18ft extender

I have an 18' Universal. A mate of mine has an 18' Extender. My Universal is much heavier than the Extender but seems to be more robust.
-
why not try an ecolite from brodexbms?
half the price and very light.
-
JM123,
Had a look at brodex and all I could see was this pole
45ft Commercial Carbon £645 CC 45
But at the top of the page It says you get 2 for 1 ????????
Are they good poles?

funnily enough I was asing about a 40ft pole from a supplier this morning. Glass fibre was about 165+ vat, and carbon fibre was foar times the price. When I saked the price of the g/fibre pole it was 7.9 kilo.

the bend on the extender comes in handy when doing over conservatory roofs
