Title: avatars, how do you get one

I know this is pretty sad but I was up till about 2 o'clock this morning trying to put one on my profile page. Have tried uploading an image onto one of those image sites & then downloading it onto the forum & I have also tried browsing for a picture, double clicking it, doing it that way. Still no joy, can anyone help, this is starting to bug me.

You dont have to upload it to another site just go int your profile settings and change your profile pic

I need you to be a bit more specific. I go into my profile, click browse image. Find the image I want, double click it, which then puts a directory name in the box but it still does nothing.  WHY

after you click on the browse option you just double click on the pic you want then go to the bottom of your profile page and click on the change profile and wait for a few seconds until it loads

After you see it in the box you just scroll down to the bottom and click on the change profile. And there you have it!  ;)

There seems to be a problem with uploading of avatars as I cant change mine either.

Will let mike know to get his IT boys onto it. Dont hold your breath as he is away this week and wont see my mail straight away.

don't forget guy's the size is around 80x80 pixels for an avatar, I see the profile section has changed a bit.

I had a problem uploading my own avatar it kept telling me it was to big,
I got around the problem by downloading it from photo bucket with a url address, this way you can add a larger avatar. hope this helps a little

I have done exactly what you said but it just doesn't work, seems like I am not alone in this problem.

As i have been trying to tell you I have done that & the flippin thing doesn't work.

Do me a favour Easyclean try & change your Avatar & let me know how you get on.

Wish i'd of realised that last night. Was supposed to get up early to clean my local Volkswagen garage but as i only got to bed at 2:30am, a 6:am start was a little early, will not be making the same mistake 2nite.

I have just managed to change my avatar and only because I had resized it first.

If your picture is more than approx 85x 85 it wont upload. You can edit and re-size it by left clicking the picture and resizing to within the pixel limit.

Unfortunately if you have an animated  or glittering avatar, re-sizing will delete the movement and you will be left with a plain picture. (as you can see)

Ive been having the same probs too..but I think its definately down to the amount of pixels in the picture!! your only allowed up to a certain size. ican change the avatar to some pics but not others!!
none of the recent pics ive taken with my digi camera have worked but any silly little cartoon pic does so this must be the answer to the problem eh? someone said the maximum size is 80 x 80 pixels i think? maybe true.

wooohooo i got a picture up at last.The problem was trying to insert too large a picture.so i googled 80x80 pixel pictures (images) and took this one.
