Title: Solar Panel Cleaning
Post by: Scottish Cleaning Service on December 13, 2025, 01:40:49 pm
Hi all, I've been asked to quote for cleaning a solar farm 4 times a year. Think there is about a thousand panels and will need to wait till they are finished building it for access. Last price I heard was 25p a panel but that was 5 years ago. Any help most welcome.

What's the current price per domestic window these days?

That was what solar  Steve was paying sub contractors ,not what we would charge the customers, I very much doubt they will get you to do it most are now cleaned with a tractor system as it’s far quicker and more cost effective for the site owners .
We have recently done 250 panels on a commercial building roof very awkward access £1250 plus vat (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1765643393_IMG_4615.jpeg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1765643393_IMG_4614.jpeg)

Did you use a cherry picker to get to the panels?

The last decent solar panel job I did in the UK was an array of 600 on top of a number of grain silos nearby. £6 a panel.

They are on the ground 3 high. I'm thinking a minimum 50p a panel and it may take half a day. Would like to clean a row for free then I will be able to work out how long it will take.

Yeh good luck cleaning 1000 panels in half a day.
4.2 panels per minute, every minute for 4 hours straight. Would love to see that happen  ;D

You certainly aren’t going to do 1,000 panels in half a day 800-1000 in a day is possible but that’s flat out on just dusty panels

I thought one just bought a wide brush with 4 jets and dragged it down them. Its just getting built so mainly dust on them from the site.

Even if you had the widest brush and a pole in each hand you won’t do 1000 panels in half a day
