Hi ,

Does anybody else have one of these reels ?  Mine is one of the first run built and i only paid £600 for it ........but its underpowered and a bit slow . I notice it has a 24v motor , anybody have a newer version thats been updated ? wondering if the newer ones have a different motor.

Are you sure it’s not slow because your battery is old?

Also, I wouldn’t want it too quick in case it snags on something. Or they can soon whip up causing damage or injury, especially with a rectus 21 or similar on the end.

My reels were rapid and eventually slowed down. Found out it was to do with the wire connections. Ended up using connector block rather than spades and made a vast difference.

I bought a water works one and the thing would take your hand off it was that quick. Kept blowing its fuse, like 2 everyday for a week.

The speed it was coming in was dangerous, I thought this cant be right.

Window cleaning warehouse were useless trying to sort it.  Waterworks on the other hand were brilliant.

They exchanged it for a new one for me.

Is the battery also 24V ?

Also agree with Simon regarding snagging.

No , the motor says 24v on it , battery is 12v. i did ask mionics about me using say an 18v battery to run it but they said it wouldnt be a good idea.

Also agree with Simon regarding snagging.

Pure freedom have got a new reelmaster lite reel out. It might be worth a look. Its a little bit cheaper at £700+ including  VAT and a lot lighter than the original.

Reading the description on the PF website the standard reelmaster, although more expensive, is a better reel.
E.g. the lite version does not have snag detection.

Im not overly worried about snag detection, never had a problem so far.

There does appear to be some kind of beef between purefreedom and waterworks about PF copying there reel.
